Soup
How dumb is someone that punches a cop? Who punched a cop? In the exact same way as a cop punching someone is dependant on circumstance? Of course? Did anyone even click on the link to the so called 'church' that he is the "convener (not minister)" of? http://valleyandmountain.org/ Enjoy! Looked at the website expecting some crazy cult. It's just a small community church. Most churches in america are small, community churches.... and historically these churches are where civil rights movements in America started... before the days of twitter... ILOTSMYBRAIN
In the exact same way as a cop punching someone is dependant on circumstance? Of course? Did anyone even click on the link to the so called 'church' that he is the "convener (not minister)" of? http://valleyandmountain.org/ Enjoy! First off all no. A police officer is supposed to be upheld to a certain behavior code. A civilian is another matter. Of course charges can be brought against the civilian and of course a police officer may protect and defend himself, but it isn't the same thing. I'm not even talking about this particular issue, I have no knowledge of this "minister" or whatever the fuck he claims to be. Nor do I care. Keep on trollin'. theprotester
Yes! Cops should uphold behavioural standards whilst civilians don't have to! Of course!
ILOTSMYBRAIN
If you can't understand that a police officer is held to a separate standard while on the job I don't see where this conversation can go besides derailing this thread into a pointless argument for several pages. Oh wait....
theprotester
Not having an argument, cops should be held to a higher accountability whilst on the job. Definitely. That's part of their job. The entire Occupy 'movement' has become, as predicted, a pointless argument.
ILOTSMYBRAIN
Oh, so we agree. Good. The entire 'movement' isn't a pointless argument, but if you want to interpret what the 'movement' is about through the media, and come to that conclusion, have it! Keep on trollin'! theprotester
We agree in the sense that Police should be acting in accordance with the law. We do not agree on the fact that people acting outside the law should be allowed to, simply because they are not Police. I honestly believe that by me participating in this thread, and also in a thread posted on a luxury lifestyle forum (read: the 1%'ers) about the same topic, I am giving the Occupy Movement/Protest more time and thought than most people that either jump to attack it, or jump in to support it. I use what I have at my disposal, and most of the information I've read or been exposed to has been from this thread - so it's unfair for you to say I'm only taking my views and perceived truths from media outlets. Fucking hell, I don't even get American television apart from 2'n'aHalf Men and fucking Bones. My mate recently employed a guy from Portland and we've had some good fun over a few sherberts going back and forth over the issues. He does not consider me a troll and was fucking surprised how much time I've spent looking at various sources related to this movement/action/protest. This is too funny. "I argue with people on TWO forums about OWS, so CLEARLY i'm more informed than most." I'm still confused by that whole "That's what you get for punching a cop" post he made... when nobody punched a cop.... so why are we talking about it? I dont understand the internet 99% of the time. theprotester
I didn't post "That's what you get for punching a cop" HTH I didn't say I 'argue' with people on TWO forums. Said I read views from two distinct parties on the discussion that is OWS. HTH I am more informed than most. HTH Fuck you're boring. I dont understand. No shit! theprotester
You can repeat misunderstanding what was clear as many times as you like, it doesn't make you right. No cop even punched the 'convener' anyway.
Soup
Sweetcheeks? I take it that's australian for "Nobody punched a cop. I don't know why I posted that." I didn't say I 'argue' with people on TWO forums. Said I read views from two distinct parties on the discussion that is OWS. HTH I am more informed than most. If you actually derive a feeling of intellectual superiority from reading fashion and graffiti forums then go back to reading... unless you've learned to read and post at the same time. Stop derailing the thread with misinformation like "How dumb is someone that punches a cop?" and a page-long hypothetical argument about why cops shouldn't react inappropriately to something that never happened. I am more informed than most.I know the internet is for porn but this is a whole new level of masturbation.
theprotester
How am I not more informed than most people? Do you really think 99% of the world gives a flying fuck about angry students? Have you taken the time to converse with the so called 1%? Have you spoken with them about the issues over the phone, face to face, via email? I have. So I am more informed than most. Soup
How am I not more informed than most people? Do you really think 99% of the world gives a flying fuck about angry students? Hahaha I love how you think you're more informed than everyone else then refer to OWS as a bunch of "Angry students." Man that insider info you get from your graffiti and fashion forum is off the hook. Have you taken the time to converse with the so called 1%? uh... I am the 1%. Or more like the 1.4% Have you spoken with them about the issues over the phone, face to face, via email? I would love to know who you're referring to. Who punched a minister? How is that in any way a response to you wrongfully thinking the minister punched a cop?
theprotester
Keep referring to it as a fashion forum, it's getting newer and newer the more you say it! How are you the 1%? Why would I divulge people I speak to in a private fashion to someone like you? I bet you'd love to know! That's probably something else you think you're entitled to! He is NOT a minister. HTH! Soup
Look, I call it a "fashion" forum because If I have to type "luxury lifestyle forum" every time I want to reference your faggotty forum I'll have to trace your IP and send a big leaky box of smelly whale dicks to your front door. If I'm honest, the term I would prefer to use is "faggy" forum, because that's the word that pops into my head when I imagine a bunch of dudes chatting on a forum about ways they would love to spend cash— but I thought I'd try to be respectful and use the word "fashion" instead. The "1%" refers to the top household income earners in America, which is anyone who makes roughly $250,000... or 713 Jackalopes in Australian currency. That would make me part of the 1%. How is he not a minister? You literally JUST referred to him as a minister. The news article refers to him a minister. He refers to himself as a minister. A minister is not exactly a hard title to receive. Here, you can become one too in seconds: http://www.themonastery.org/ What's the point you're trying to make by saying he isn't a minister?
Swindle
This is too funny. Mike Easley
Here's where it was- This is at the UC campus...my guess is there was around 2000 people there. I was there that night. We marched from Oakland to Berkley. The march was hella chill and a lot of fun. Berkley showed us mad love when we rolled through. I was there for the march on the 19th too, TONS of people! electsot
Isn't well played generally used in response to a persons rebuttal? I was simply stating, it's interesting, all the contradictions and imperfections in this heer tecknologeecal space age. We're supposed to be so advanced but countless moments of our lives are spent arguing who's opinion is more pointless and ignorant or who has convinced themselves that if they take an authoritative or sarcastically confident tone their point will come off as more valid. Infrastructure is crumbling, collapse is imminent.
