I was wondering if you could just slap something over it and call it good? it all kinda depends dude, on many different things. i have a portrait i got done a few years ago that i don't really care for anymore, it needs more black and looks like it'll fade off in another 5 years, so i'm planning to just get it covered asap. it's a decently big tattoo on my leg, but the dude who's gonna go over it said it'll be no problem at all. so basically you should be fine too.
