Do you mean products only or products and services also?

I think that other than Apple computer makers could step up their marketing a little but you would have a hard time writing a paper on it.

There are lots of services that are poorly marketed or not really marketed at all.

Dominoes pizza recently revamped their marketing (recipe) that resulted in a huge increase in business for them. That might be helpful for a before and after aspect.

you talking marketing or advertising? advertising is only one component of marketing even though it is the most visual.

other marketing fails include poor market research: shitty market segmentation (entering a market segment that's overserved), product differentiation (failing to distinguish a new product or service from competitors already existing in the field). Also consider poor product strategy, like improperly following PLC (product life cycle) trends leading to inventory problems like overstock/understock.

tell her to study up on marketing strategy and take it from there, there are a ton of things that can be fucked up throughout research/development and the product life cycle. Advertising gets most of the scrutiny but in reality is a small part of marketing a product.

products that come to mind: the mcpizza, razor scooters, crocs would all work.

1). the mcpizza is a product that, in theory, sounds fine. why did it fail? explain.

2). razor scooters/crocs: MARKET SATURATION. neither company estimated the speed of their respective PLCs and how quickly the market would be saturated with their products. Crocs fudged especially badly in this department, opening a line of stores to sell **only** croc products, which was a good product line differentiation strategy but was implemented far too late.

either of these would be basic as fuck and an easy paper. do your thing.

Why don't you do it on Ginsu knives or however you spell it. Those knives

were around for a long time before some other company bought them out

and changed the name. Became the biggest selling knoves of all time.

Paper writes itself.
