As much as i love bourbon no i wouldn't.

Here's a cool story bro.

I took my ex girlfriend to Olive Garden(five star restaurant) for our 1 year anniversary. I was already nervous about the bill cause i only had $55.23 in my wallet, she ordered this fucking $19.00 dinner so i was forced to order a kids meal double cheeseburger with cheesy fries with water. Then this bitch request fucking wine. So my bill was at like 50 some dollars and i needed the extra 5 bucks for gas money to take us home. So when our waitress came to collect the our bill I gave her 52.00 dollars and told her to keep the change which was .42 cents, that was her tip.

Pissed i only had 2 dollars for gas for the rest of the week.

. . . at the edge of my seat through out this entire story!

so, uh, what about tipping cab drivers? i'm sure that's worth at least 3 pages of intelligent discussion.

Depends. If I'm just hailing a cab to go somewhere off the street, I'll throw a few (meaning three) dollars or so. If I'm calling for a pick-up, I usually call the same company, or a lot of the times I call the drivers direct and I always tip them pretty nice. If they have to go out of their way to pick you up, it's late or they could be picking up a more profitable fare, the fact that you tip well will stick in their head and they'll get you sooner. Cab company's where I live are notorious for "forgetting" to pick you up and on the weekends it's next to impossible to call for a pick-up and not wait an hour or more.

I never tip the people who clear your plates off the table at all you can eat buffets, discuss.

There was a time in my life where I considered the position of a bathroom attendant at a strip club. The reasons I did not take the job (in no particular order)

- My weekends would have been shot

- I'm not big enough to be thrust into one of those "pray to brown man" situations

- Clearly none of you fucks would have tipped me anyway

you get a tip if you deserve it. im not giving away money because its the polite thing to. simple as that.

^ this. i don't care what anyone else says, but if the majority of your income depends on tips, then act like it. be nice, get me water, serve me, and i will tip you handsomely. if you don't, fuck you, i'm not giving you money.

the only people i have and will continue to tip extremely well is people who do my hair and people who do tattoos.

One group I insist on stiffing no matter what...BATHROOM ATTENDANTS.

I hate them and their stupid jobs and they make me uncomfortable.

Yo, bathroom attendants are the ill homies haha. Only place I frequent that has one is my favorite strip club, and I'm more than willing to give him $1 every time I go in there in exchange for ignoring suspicious behavior. Of the no homo variety, of course. That sounded weird

When I eat buffets in the casino I usually give 4 to 5 dollars for 2 people.

I hardly take cabs but in NYC it's dope cuz you can pay with a credit card (wasn't always like this), it gives you the option of paying 15% to 20% or no tip. The machine figures it out for you. Now car services on the other hand is a whole other animal, I've had friends told me they get more of the fare so tipping is unnecessary but I usually throw them $2.

15 % = 10%+5% or .15=.10+.05

so first figure out 10 percent which is just moving the decimal place one to the left of the value

ie if x.0 is the total.... 10 percent is .x. And half of this value is 5% so just add the tenth and the 5 percent and u get 15 percent.

in nyc where the sales tax is 8% i think? u can just use the tax value and multiply that by 2 and youll have a 16% tip.

fuck i feel mad jewish for writing this out,..needless to say my ass sticks to a 15% regardless...also i think this goes along with the cheap indian stereotype made in the first page.

ALSO WHY TAKE A CAB IN NYC?! ITS CALLED TEH SUBWAY....LONG ISLAND FANCY ASS NIGGAS.

LOLWUT?

Not waiters, but the person who brings you your tray and ketchup?

i had said that becuse two reasons:

1. i ws drunk.

2. most of the people working at whataburger are nerdy highschool kids. they hve to bring you your food and act like that shit isnt humiliating. ill throw them aa buck or two because i know how shitty working fast food is when you dont have to take some assholes their food on a tray.

how much is that? coz over here the minimum wage is 5.50 and if you work in a resturant you could be getting like 10 bucks, i dunno but they sure as fuck dont expect tips. coz if you dont like your resturant job, quit and do construction or sell fucking drugs.

i mean now obviously im gonna be tip paranoid and give everyone my money so no one thinks im a jerk but i find it odd people who do this expect to be payed by patron rather than there employers.

Minimum wage is just under £6 and is about to go just above it I believe. It is pretty standard to be paid pretty badly in hospitality work in the UK. We are not allowed to add service on a bill even at 10%. Chinese people and other non tipping cultures get very bad service the majority of the time because they hardly ever tip. It's not a racist thing its just the waiter may as well pay more attention to an american table as it will be worth their while.

Don't know if someone said this yet or not but I tend bar. If you ever want to see me again after not tipping, best take a photo. You leave me something and I'll be back. You leave me a few dollars and I'll probably buy you a shot. Keep it comming and your gonna be so drunk when you leave and I guarantee your tab will be significantly less than it would have been if you just left me the minimum. People who work in the Service industry in the USA survive on our tips. So if you want good service, be polite, be ready to order, don't ask for a coke and when I come back ask for more ketchup, and don't ask for the check to be split 19 ways.

What I do not get, is how do you think the job works for you, when really you work for the job?

You are there for the customer, not the other way around. If they want more fucking ketchup, get it. Your job is the server, do your job.

I do think people need to be tipped at least 20% for decent service, but if the bartender is an asshole about ketchup^, then fuck him, he should stop working at a job that he obviously thinks is below him.

i keep hearing all these service people crying about no tips or low tips, but i dont see them crying about how much or how little they claim on there taxes. i know for a fact that they probably make more than alot of us in more physically demanding job. Remember without a customer to come to your place you will be out of a job, and since you guys are such people oriented, you can do real well pan handling or street performing. New thing to tell yourself before you go to work " treat everyone the same no more no less" then you wouldnt be salty about people who dont tip or tip little. suck it up or get a new job fucking entitlement minded ass bitches

Is consolidating your order really so foreign to people??? Ever consider if the place yo're at

is jammed with people that it wouldn't be so hard to ask for everything at once instead of 6 trips

cause you think (or you're oblivious) you're the only table there??? Seriously. As efficient as the customer

can be is as efficient as I can be because I'm waiting on other people. Not too much to ask. Job is below me??? Please.

Reading way into some simple experiences to get that from my statements.

What if everyone in a party of 6 pays their own way? I go on alot of business trips where everyone needs a receipt to file a voucher to get reimbursed. Why should I have to not get reimbursed because you do not want do you job and separate the bills?

Go get some ketchup and do your job. You are there for the customer, not the other way around.
