Posted July 4, 2011 Share Posted July 4, 2011 I highly doubt the american version of this show will be anywhere near as funny as the Australian, simply because of the humor wont be able to transcribe.t That said it would be worth checking out. Also why is it that shows need to be re made?, can they not just get the rights to the original and then play them? I remember this episode were Wilfred was just smoking cones on the couch, it was like looking into the mirror with me and my dog, chilling. grd Posted July 4, 2011 Author Share Posted July 4, 2011 I think they remake shows to tweak the humour so it does translate...also american studios think american's are too stupid to understand other accents, according to Ricky Gervais at least. The slang dosent match up, as in they might say something that would be seen hilarious in AUS but over here that will go over our head. Just like a lot of our jokes might go over their head. I remember the first time I watched a movie made in my own country I thought the actors sounded weird as hell because they werent speaking with American accents.
