IOU
I hate this church. It's huge and does nothing to serve the public other than give them a place to feel above others.. Meanwhile cats are starving, strung out, robbing fools right around this place. God should be pissed about how ITS worshiped. /end rant
IOU
I believe this is a school and a reject version of the Disney Concert Hall. I have no idea what's going on with that giant ass looking water slide.
qsysue
I believe this is a school and a reject version of the Disney Concert Hall. It's a performing arts high school. Cost something like $200 million to build. Originally it was only supposed to cost $30 million. Don't get me started on that topic. Have you been over to the John Ferarro Building? This one? It's fabulous for taking photos.
IOU
I'm not sure, is this next to the Marc Taper? Back to the random: Before they buffed the river, I took a real long walk after popping an Ambien and drinking some. Not the smartest thing especially when you decide to climb under the bridges. Got yelled at and threatened by a famous bum that lives under one of the bridges. Like forty feet up. My day ended with me and some crack head drinking 211's. The day did not end well for me. There are certain parts of DTLA that are incredibly peaceful in the early morning hours. I remember my boy calling me, asking why I was up. I asked him the same thing and he said he just lost an 8-ball of coke. I asked him where... Watching Griffith Park burn. It was amazing and sad all at once. L.A. River near Frogtown and Silverlake area. The police department next to Little Tokyo. Creeps me out for some reason and not the ones you're probably thinking. More DTLA. IOU
Homeless? Brown bag life. I see you. The smell was putrid. Good food right here. http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=22272 I've some really good times at that park.
IOU
CNN office on Sunset. More importantly Amoeba is across the street. A lot of the intellectual homeless like to hang out here and talk about how stupid our leaders are. Now that's a home worth coming back to. Hail Satan. Ouch. Zuma. Neptune's across the street. Good food.
IOU
Media Monster. Some of what you see on the Chandler Bike Path that links Burbank to North Hollywood. About three miles long. Best time is early in the morning. Go all out.

IOU
The Palladium. Haven't been there since the 90s, so I have no idea what its like now. But its a great space to see bands play. The Pantages and the Frolic Room. Guess which one I haven't gone to? They're not cold. One of the homeless passengers just smelled that bad. Fuck the tourist traps of Hollywood. You want a good time? Ride 156/656 from 10pm and later. Friday and Saturday are your best bets to encounter the strange, annoying, entertaining and just plain out of their minds. qsysue
Man I love LA. Your pics are so awesome. I wish I could spend more time downtown, maybe this summer (when it's boiling hot where I live). I think a lot of people who live in LA never go downtown. What a shame that is. What sort of music are you into? Amoeba is amazing. The only show I've seen at the Palladium was Deathklok/Mastodon/Converge/High on Fire. I prefer smaller venues. I've seen all those bands except Deathklok at much smaller venues, multiple times. A favorite spot downtown: Wish I could get inside this building: And not get raped, I mean.

qsysue
Those kids aren't having a good day. Oh, and do you like cemeteries? If you haven't been, you should check out Hollywood Forever (really close to Amoeba, on Santa Monica). My other fave is Evergreen cemetery in Boyle Heights. Has a cool view of downtown. Like there are spots where the buildings in the distance echo the lines of the gravestones. Pretty cool. If you know of any cool ones, can you let me know? I'm always up for a good cemetery. IOU
Pasadena City Hall. You want how much for parking?!? I have no idea what to feel or even think about this. This taco stand used to be the spot where all types of criminals used to chill back in the 60s I believe. Good food to boot, especially if you've had a few. TheoHuxtable..
Chicago Dog. Not sure how its supposed to taste, but this was damn good and the bowl of chili was real nice as well. The people are super nice as well. Damn... Still have yet to try a real authentic Chicago dog... went to Carney's on Sunset and ordered their "Chicago Dog", and it was just a hot dog with mustard, relish, and onions on a regular bun. Disappointing.
IOU
I have nothing to compare it with other than it just being fucking good. It'd be great if you or another oontzer ate there for comparison. The second time I went I got a chili and coleslaw dog(and the Chicago dog again). South Carolina or something. The coleslaw was the business. The second time was with my family and they loved it as well. I've been to two spots that that Guy cat has been and he ain't full of shit. Oinkster was the other one, but neither was because of him. Guest Ginger Bread Man
being from chicago i gotta say that dog looks pretty authentic however the taste is where its at. considering very few companies produce the ingredients to make a chicago dog, im pretty sure that dog up there tastes like it should. IOU
Some more randoms to keep things moving along: He's all bloated. Crazy random spot for a message like this. Under the 1st Street bridge I believe. Haha.. After finding some land marks my friend and I ran into this Desire Obtain Cherish guy. He's was really cool and was real curious about graffiti. He actually wanted to know what everything meant. Curious people are interesting people. Got some stickers that will make for good stencils later on. haha.. Good advice. I believe this is a DWP building next to Union Station. Such a great look and feel. The way a major city should look and feel in my opinion. Yes that is her leg next to her. If I wasn't late for work, I could have got a better picture.
IOU
This is easily one of the best murals I've seen in Los Angeles. It definitely moved me a few times. I believe its off Oxnard and Whitsett in the canal. Nice way to kill some time and chill out for a minute. Its also nice to see that its so clean. Crazy spooky and creepy to me. IOU
A favorite band of mine, Vagabond Opera w/Fishtank Ensemble playing at Fais Do Do. Great place to catch live bands. Both bands have incredible talented musicians. I'm starting to get into some of the solo releases from the band members. Good stuff all around. qsysue
An oboe! I have to check them out. I don't think I've even heard of that wall in LA. Crazy cool. Have you been to those projects in east LA with all the murals? I'll try to post pics in a minute...not sure how many I've actually uploaded to Flickr.
