francis buxton Posted May 12, 2011 Share Posted May 12, 2011 back when i got an STD test they told me they couldn't test for herps unless there were open sores, and they had to swab them. i mean if you got open sores on your dick that look like cold sores you can probably assume you have herpes, no need for a test Thats what I was trying to say. You could think you've got it, go get tested, they tell you that you don't have it, but you just don't have any open sores. Bummer. I was under the impression that it won't show up on a test if you don't have any symptoms, which alone would probably be enough of an indicator IMO.
