I'm definitely bummed that the next season isn't going to be until spring 2012 though. Yet another reason why it's better to get into shows once they've run their course, so you can be a piece of shit for a week and watch it from start to finish. Only thing that disappointed me off the top of my head is that they didn't show any of the capture of Jaime Lanister. For those of you who have read the books, was it similar, where they showed the aftermath of the slaughter of the 2000 troops sent out against Tywin's forces, and then just cut to Robb bringing in Jaime as a prisoner? DON'T READ BEYOND THIS magic and magical creatures are in the books, but it is never really the focus. the focus is on the politics and relationships of the characters. it definitely slowly grows to be more and more fantastical as you read on, but never to the point where it changes the story so drastically you no longer recognize it. dragons are present, but at the ending of the 3rd book they are still growing, and dany isn't a part of the 4th book.
