She gave me 2 options. 1-Extraction-Cheaper, more painful and done in 1 trip OR 2-Root canal-way more expensive, less painful and will require a few trips. Any feedback here kids? Anyone had one or the other done? Recommendations, things I should know, horrow stories, eventual e beefing with umad images posted. If it's one of the teefs in the back that doesn't effect whatever smile you have, get it extracted. Shouldn't really matter if it's not there yeah? Obviously if it's one of those front chompers you're going to want to keep it. Hurrr. Root canals take longer, and usually hurt more than a simple extraction. publicenemyno.3 Posted March 12, 2011 Share Posted March 12, 2011 root canals can be a pain if they're not done properly. i had one done about 7 years ago. the cap the put over it never fit right and ended up cracking. i've had it replaced since but i still get pain in the tooth even though there shouldn't be any nerves left. it wasn't up front, but it would be weird if they just yanked it out. get the root canal unless it's a wisdom tooth or the very last molar before it. Left a trail of blood spit puddles along the way. It wasn't the worst way to spend an afternoon, for sure. The worst was probably just waking up in the middle of the night with my head throbbing a few days later. I thought I had dry socket. But I didn't I tried to wait off taking bong rips for as long as I could. And rinsed and all that. It was all fine in the end. When I had my root canal, the dude only did it half way. I don't know why. Filled it with some temporary stuff and made me come back the next week. He wasn't happy with how it turned out when he finished. So he told me he was gonna start over. a bit into that, I started really feeling the contraption in my mouth. whatever was hooking into my gums or teeth or whatever. it wasn't very pleasant. This past year I wrecked on my bike and had about 6 or 7 separate procedures done on my grill. None of them were much worse than a bit of discomfort. As for the bill...think about your mouth first. So you drop a bunch of cash, get it done, then 4 years down the road you find out that the problem still persists and then pay more money to get something else done. Ive been looking into a lot of this. My mowf has had a lot of problems as of late and Im ashamed I let it get so bad. Its called boozen at night for years and not rinsing or brushing afterwards.
