dude made up his own world and has like every angle covered. not that i think this will really happen, but when the economy finally crashes completely shit is going to change alot, hopefully in a good direction. We could be living in a much better world if capitalism didn't work against technology in where it is more profitable to use fossil fuels for everything and be at war and fuck half of the world over living in poverty

Jacque Fresco is a utopian cornball with a static view of society and no understanding of the economics he criticises. Just for starters Fresco could learn a lot by reading about L. Mises calculation problem.

While he denies it in nonsensical way, the ridiculous system of social organisation he espouses is simply Marxism 2.0 with an eco twist.

The Venus project is this idea of the new age. To me, it is very unrealistic and Peter Joseph, the director of Zeitgeist, is associated with many unrealistic ideas in my opinion. He seems to believe that we are all ONE spiritual being, ideas that originate from Helena Blavatsky who is one of the pioneers of the Theosophical New Age movement.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helena_Blavatsky

His film from the start attempts to debunk Jesus Christ and throw Christianity out of the window, which to me is fine... you have a right not to believe in Jesus, I really don't care if you're an atheist... but his documentary makes a lot of false claims and presents a lot of lies about Christianity as fact. The movie overall just concerns me, as it uses a lot of double edged sword techniques where it is exposing a lot of truth but then leading people towards some sort of Utopian New Age where we are all one society living together in harmony underneath some sort of one world system. He throws Christianity out of the window, and then attempts to establish his own religion/cult in the film by bringing people together under his guidance/project. This is something that I see at it's foundation as a new world order agenda. Whether or not you believe this to be true... I could care less.. but for me it personally throws up red flags immediately.

I believe myself to be an individual, and although I know we are all human beings, I don't believe we are one spiritual being, or one consciousness. I believe we are all independent of one another and our individualism is stronger than our collectivism. That's why I believe in America, the Constitution, and freedom on an individual level. I'm not saying the Venus project doesn't have great ideas... alternative resources, a resource based economy, etc. are all attractive even to my eyes... much better than the corrupt system we have currently... however, I am skeptical as to the reasoning behind why so many people today want to move forward with these ideas of globalism and collectivism, throwing away individuality, private property, and personal freedom under the guise of that behavior being fundamentally corrupt and leading to corruption. My suspicion is that it was staged to lead towards this result.

I dont really think Jack Fresco's that big of a deal. He's an industrial designer by trade who thinks pretty similarly to every somewhat famous architect of the 20th century. They all think they can change human psychology/behavior/society through the design/layout (we use the word "program") of buildings and urban planning. The last 150 years of Architectural history has been nothing but lawsuits against these idealistic retards. Utopia doesn't exist. The greatest thing any architect can do is think of how to use the buildings we already have.

he did not think this trough... lived in a communist/socialist country i can say that hes ideas are nearly identical to real communism

socialism was back then the transitional phase to eliminate money, if the "experiment" would have succeed true communism would be exactly like hes imagined world

there are a few changes since the last communist/socialist countries have failed, for one he is right technology is the key for eliminating money (at least most of it), thats because human labor will be nearly obsolete (soon) there for the current system will fail in the next few decades

BUT there are a few complications, problems with hes model: he is not counting in that human nature will NOT ever change, people ALWAYS want to party, some like to collect rare stuff, not every one want to contribute to society at all < they just want to live they life and they dont care about contributing

he say there wont be any crime, because people after a generation or 2 will think differently, well "crime" is mainly not economic crime, its mainly human impulses (example sexual/relationship jealousy), getting your hands on illegal materials (example drugs), violence for what ever reason intoxicated or just for fun < those type of crimes wont be eliminated by just eliminating money, even if you legalize all drugs there are plenty of other types of crimes that will be present ... so in other words you NEED police

military : lived in the east block i know for a fact that the last thing communist countries wanted to waste they resources is military ... but how do you defend your self against capitalist countries who want your resources ?! so you have to have a military as well like it or not

now to limitations of freedom, you have to compete with a capitalist part of the planet, because if you do not your technology will fall behind and people start to leave the safe utopia to make more money and get better life (do to better technology) in the competitive world ... remember you do not have to perform, you contribute what ever you feel is ok.. there is no pressure, there is no competition and there is no reward < people dont perform well if not under pressure, i was there ;)

then the differences grow year after year, time will come when people want to work in capitalism (especially the ones who are smart and have a lot of offer), but the people in capitalism would love to live in a world where its all free, now add to this if transportation is free/cheap and fast and you get the Berlin-wall issue, people go work for money but go over to sleep get food and healthcare where its free... so what then will you close the borders ? will you let your most skilled and smart people leave freely ? those are big decisions ! ruin your economy or ruin the freedoms for all your citizens ?!

so this guy is a dreamer and hes idea is not even as good in working out kinks in the system then star trek < and even star treck is not perfect as utopia, just better then the venus project
