My guess is that he was incredibly unobservant and/or they were slick...well, right up to the point where they filmed themselves committing a multiple felony, thereby letting this guy off scot-free and putting their own dumb asses in the hot seat. I've done some security work for events, and what I'd usually do when I spotted someone who wasn't "on the list" (please believe there's always a list, and it's a short one) is tell them they had been spotted and that they should get the hell out of there before someone a lot less reasonable spotted them. I did that mostly to prevent situations where the guy would get dragged into a room and shook down or worse...shit like that has a front and back.
