CILONE/SK
I keep hearing about how people are canceling their Netflix because of the price increase, but what I do not get, is where can you get soooooo many movies for $16 a month? Redbox and video stores do not even come close.
dcay
THE PIRATE BAY . COM.. I'm still wondering if its going to be the same content on streaming, or will Ot be the entire catalog. Any info on that?

Redbox and video stores do not even come close. This. People are acting like they went up to 50 bucks a month. Blockbuster charges something like 5-6 bucks per movie Red Box charges 1 dollar for one day Netflix charges 7.99 for unlimited streaming or unlimited DVDs, or 15.98 for both PER MONTH. Now this would be a little more expensive if you watched one movie per month, but people need to realize how much they save when matching mutiple movies. I have DirecTV in my house, and we pay almost 250 bucks per month. People need to stop complaining and realize how much they are sucking netflix dry. Movie rights arent free. Freedom isnt free

CILONE/SK
RUSO, do you live in America? DirectTV is satellite TV that you pay for.
Silba
I overdid the sucking dry part, but it holds some truth. 15.98 for unlimited dvds and streaming is a deal no matter what. I see a lot of blogs say 60% instead of 6 bucks.
Mr. Incognito
whoa whoa 250 bucks a month for tTV? 3 grand a year just to watch TV? that shit is nuts. do you ever leave the house?
RUSO
I'd cancel also, I don't think I should have to pay for there expanding to other country's....that's what it's all about. I hate blockbuster tho. @CILONE/SK I meant 250 for DTV is out of hand.

Mr. Incognito
yeah 250 bucks a month for directv (which doesn't even seem that great) sounds to me like a straight up ass raping
Silba
Well its because we have 5 different HD recievers, and a DVR. But thats still pretty expensive. Funny thing is I dont watch much TV outside of the news, maybe a ESPN and a race here and there

Bumboclot.
Think this just got added to Instant. Still haven't seen it but I'm starting it now. http://movies.netflix.com/WiPlayer?movieid=70113534&trkid=2429434 As for the whole rate increase, I feel like they're going to take an initial hit from existing customers that don't want to pay more. But in the long run they'll be fine, its still a much better deal than most other options and they're going to keep getting new customer that are transitioning away from traditional ways of renting, cable, ect. Fondles
the old bait and switch uhhh hardly, they've had great service and prices for years now (and yes their streaming needs to be updated faster/regularly/better selection)...it was obvious they would need to change business models eventually, but they were waiting for more competition, which shows some integrity from them. Having said that, I'll continue with the streaming service, but cancelling the DVD portion once i finish "watching" certain things. Currently I'm watching Tudors S3+4 on Instant Q

Dr. Scientist
Bottom line is. . . just like every other business, their prices start off low while they push their competitors out of business. As their competition base grows smaller, their prices get higher. That's the way the world works. Just hope that Netflix nevee becomes the only option, at that point it will have a monthly membership fee and you'll have to pay per view.
