Then when they run your name they find out if you have a warrant right then and there, not after they already took you to jail. Just saying that your story sounds a little suspect is all. Gotta say you, you prob dont live/travel across multiple county lines or you d know, warrants dont always come back immediTely, particulary not from another county. Usually unless you were formally arrested and taken to holding, warrants will poP up. I ended up lost in limbo for 3 days because the asshole arresting cops "lost" my paperwork so that although physically i was in county, there was no record of my whereabouts. I also didnt know any land line numbers and as anyone who has visited cook county will tell you i was fucked as cell phones dont accept collect calls.
