It's created wars, racism, sacrifice, persecution, and it has been one of the oldest and most effective hustles in history. If you look at the history of religion, it has always been a way to hold power over the people. When the Jews were chased out by the Egyptians, they had to go into hiding and that is when things began to be memorized and rituals of repetition were put in place to make sure nothing was lost through out the persecution. Then Jesus came around, and we all know he was a Jew. But the Jews killed him. When Pontius asked the crowd "who do I set free, the prophet or the murderer," they picked the Barabbas. So the hippie gets nailed to some wood, put in a cave, and supposedly he moves a stone and rises from the dead like a fucking zombie. But instead of biting his apostles and spreading the virus, they go and write books chronicling his life and message. So we have books about a dude, written by a bunch of other dudes who followed that dude around like his ass shat gold doubloons. Who's to say their stories were accurate and not fabricated to impress. Maybe he didn't really turn water to wine, and was just carrying around a box of wine. Or maybe he learned how to make kool-aid and just tricked everyone? So the original "Christian" bible is now teamed up with scriptures from the Torah, and a new batch of uncivilized desert dwelling people who think the earth is flat and dragons steal their cattle, have a "religion." So that shit is then handed down like the Jews are handing down the Hebrew mind fuck. Now flash forward a little while. Christianity is not only being beating into the non-believers (literally), but people are being tortured and killed because of it. The Crusades were a violent time of hypocrisy and stupidity, but it was all driven by "religion" which was really just the scape goat for the need to have power. Not to mention Kings were having the bible re-writing to fit their rule. I always find that to be the funniest thing and the most blatantly obvious evidence that Religion is nothing more than a power hustle. I won't even get into the Spanish Inquisition (No/Monty Python). Then you've got the Klu Klux Klan, a group of Christians who hold Jesus in their hearts and nooses in their back pockets. Or the "God Hates Fags." Or the Muslims and how they torture their woman and cut out their clits. Oh, and that whole "blowing up buildings" thing as well. Further down the road you have the Mormons who are just FUCKED UP! It's all so fucking comical that I can sit and rant for hours about it. Religious people always fall back on the one argument, which is "faith." It's all about having "faith." If you don't have faith you're lost and doomed and you're going to eat brimstone from Lucifer's asshole. The reality is that their "faith" is nothing but fear induced brain washing, and "faith" is all they've got against the fear of the afterlife. For all we know, we could be just like everything else on this planet and we die, go back to the earth, recycle into something else, and that's it. But that's just a miserable idea to most humans, so they want pearly gates, an old man with a beard and clipboard, all our deceased relatives and pets, and angels, OH THOSE FUCKING ANGELS!
