"Why would anyone want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane?"

im not sure myself.

But there is no way actually describe what happened, the rush is beyond anything ive ever experienced, when i was a kid i had gun held to my head then again when i was in my teens, this is somewhere between that and bliss. total brain scramble. actually thats still a bad comparison but its just not so easily put into words

any of you guys ever done this?

Damn you,

I had an appointment to go hang gliding yesterday for the first time in my life and it was canceled due to crap weather.

I am jealous.

i remember going skydiving last year. nothing in my life has so far compared to the first second when you leave the plane where you're rolling and turning and you have no idea where you are or where the ground is. the freefall is awesome but i would have to do it by myself if i did it again.

that single feeling was probably the greatest thing i have ever felt.

Me and a friend were supposed to get certfied to jump solo for $1000 (5 tandoms and a class) every jump after that was $90 plus chute rental which was $75. I ended up shattering my leg the day before but my friend was nice enough to stop by the hospital everyday and tell me all about it. Still yet to go.

It wasn't Riverhead, it was in Newburgh like 2 hours way upstate

14,000 feet heading toward the earth at 125 miles an hour.

Falling 7000 feet in 60 seconds.

Thats the length of like 5 world trade centers in under a minute.

The first 10 to 20 seconds my stomach and heart went straight to my balls, and you cant make it stop.

Then I pulled the rip cord and the chute opens at about 6k according to the instructors wrist altimeter, 10 mins after that, landing.

Props to the kids who took the plunge, I'm already planning another trip.

ill post more when/if i get my boys dvd
