He will probably release a public apology, shake hands with the chief and mayor, and go home. If this had been some other shit under slightly different circumstances, anyone else holding them up till girl died would have caught charges. "His attack leaves the people he swore to protect feeling vulnerable and afraid," Vogel said. Huffman was found guilty April 15 of one count of first-degree sexual assault in the May 17, 2007, rape of a 19-year-old woman in a police substation in South Providence while the woman was intoxicated. Huffman, who had delivered a five-minute tearful apology to the victim and her family at about 11:30 a.m., didn't respond after his sentence was imposed.
