I read a couple hundred novels. I lost a bunch of weight and got in real good shape, i learned how to better deal with difficult people, developed a respectable chess game. Wrote a lot, quit smoking cigarettes and stopped getting high and drunk. When i got out of jail I pumped my brakes. Before i got locked up i was way out of control propped. pretty fucking much. i too have never been to "prison" but spent about three months in a level 4/5 facility. food sucks. people suck, CO's suck worse, you barley see outdoors, your paperwork never goes through, your cell is tiny and you learn jail edict, play a lot of cards during rec, peer out your little 12 * 5 cell door window at all the other windows, read a fucking lot and think about how you never wanna go back. fuck jail, fuck prison, fuck all that shit. keep low. and on a side note. responding to this thread and writing that little response just made me realize some of the things i have been doing might not be "keeping low" at all. needtofuckingcheckmyself0ner. He wasn't allowed to have books because they thought he could smuggle drugs in them. I visited him a few times. He seemed happy as could be, but bored out of his mind. He got off the charges and sent back to Nigeria. I don't know which is worse. Asians are stupid about drugs. shit dude. do/did you reside in korea?? if not, how the shit were you able to just "go" a few times in 3 months.....???god damn. thehaze Posted August 31, 2010 Share Posted August 31, 2010 i'm from atlantic canada, and a good friend of mine just did a year and a half on a 3 year in the federal pen medium/high security in Nova Scotia, Spring Hill i believe. either way he said it was exactly like the trailer park boys depict jail too be they smoke dope, cig's, play cards , hockey, and box. and all the lifer's take care of the hot heads and put them in their place real quick. he sayin that he worked in the laundry and by the end of his sentence had 4 mattresses on his bed, a half dozen blankets and a bunch of pillows from just taking them out of the laundry room going back too his cell. he also had a phone the whole time, 2 ipods along with smokes, weed and hash on the regular. gotta love our tax dollars at work! I have a couple old friends that have been through it, but they don't talk about it much and i feel weird asking. i'd like to hear from some people that have actually gone, not just someone who watched American Me and an episode of Law and Order. so guys, whats prison like? just curious. You're going to be warehoused with a bunch of lunitics. You'll be caged with one or more of them (usually one) for the majority of the day depending on where you're at and what your security level is in between going to the cafeteria to eat and going to the yard for recess. Be ready to shit infront of other dudes, and know that as soon as your shit hits the water that it's common courtesy to flush before your celly has to smell your shit. And thoroughly clean that toilet after use too. It's not like the holding cells where everything is covered in shit. Also be prepared for middle school politics on a grown up level. Niggas who got beat up in middle school, suck dick and/or get stabbed in prison.
