bebopdeluxe
Do they knowingly support a graffiti site, or are the ads run through some third party? I wouldn't guess that Nike or Apple would seek out 12oz. Your thoughts?
Decyferon
I know you have 3 tampons but I will respond. 12oz is on the complex media advertisers list, complex work with numerous companies and advertise across numerous websites, 12oz actually has very high traffic at the moment, on the Alexia rating it is 14,666 ranked webiste worldwide and 3741 in the US, so it gets high traffic. The advertisers would have an idea what the webiste is about but by advertising on it, it doesn't mean that they support or condone illegal activity, because this board is documenting a certain culture not telling people to actually do it. The advertisers do audit and check sites, which is one of the reasons the site rules are being more strictly followed because it did come down to just porn this and that everywhere which doesn't promote the site in a positive light. I think 12oz is probably one of the best sites online and will certainly be supporting it in moving forward in its progression.
shai
I used to be against the ads, but they serve a purpose by paying the bills that allow us to have a forum. As far as whether the advertisers subscribe to or disagree with what the site documents, I think they're more concerned with making money.
bebopdeluxe
I know you have 3 tampons but I will respond. I feel honored indeed. I think Shai is right. It's all about money. I doubt they do much checking. And 12oz documenting only may be a stretch.
Decyferon
of course it is about money, that is what advertising is, no need to worry about it, it means we get a free forum. I dunno I don't see anywhere that the owners of 12oz are telling people to do illegal graffiti, maybe members saying to paint but that is different
KILZ FILLZ
All the 'How To' threads being stickied could be taken that way. Ads are inevitable. I don't mind em much. No harder to ignore that any of the ads be are assaulted with in every other aspect of life. I have clicked them though, but it's not something I go out of my way to do. I'm just really glad the fernel morris video and audio ad was shot down so quick. Audio ads on every page would probably make me stop coming here. bebopdeluxe
I notice lately the only ads are for graff supplies. What happened to the Cherry Coke, Mac computers, Nike, etc?
lord_casek
Nike and 12oz are connected. I notice lately the only ads are for graff supplies. What happened to the Cherry Coke, Mac computers, Nike, etc? They are on a rotation based schedule. Ads get rotated according to regions, rotation, etc. Forgot to add this: Buy all of your graff n' dance supplies from the 12oz store. They've got good prices, quick service, and it helps the site. CALIgula
well said decy and shai. advertisers are all about the revenue, and will advertise on any high traffic site (with a few minor exceptions...i dont see nike ads on skinhead websites) but all in all, they help pay for the website, so im all for them.
