Soup
Starting about three or four minutes in, watch this animated map of nuclear explosions in the 20th century and try to answer one question: what does the US military have against the Southwest? That region, more than any other in the world, has been nuked — not just bombed but nuked — more than any other part of the Earth. Hell, we’ve even let the UK blow some steam off in Nevada. The animation, titled “1945-1998,” was done by Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto.
vanfullofretards
They don't have anything against the southwest. It's just no one lives there.

Soup
Thats a good reason to drop well-over a thousand nukes on the area.
TeenagerFromMars
14mins of portuguese cartoon blips? hum. i want my 2:38 seconds back. plus the 17 seconds it took to write this post
blackboatshoes
soup are you a fucking idiot. the military needs to test bombs, they can't just strap em on a plane and send em to iraq, or any other war zone without testing em out first. they don't have anything against the south west, it's just it's the only spot in the U.S suitable enough with enough open range for them to do bomb testing. you need a serious life coach. Soup
Woerd. The video's hilarious, considering each of those cartoonish blips were giant nuclear payloads being detonated for political, scientific and/or military purposes. Since I'm on a two week hiatus from the mainland and/or "reality," observing the shit we do on a regular basis cracks me up.

blackboatshoes
that video reminded me of that game DEFCON, where you were a country and you had to nuke/air strike / sub/warship attack other countries like the UK, RUSSIA, Africa, Middle East, U.S, only just random blips. plus they seem to set off a lot of nukes off in the water near australia. Crocodile Tears
shit i made it to 6 mins and it looked like they detonated several nukes per month every single month from the 60's to mid 70's on average. over 1200? and it kept going. i would think that is worse then the effects of chernobyl. i try not to hold contempt for humanity and get caught up in that type of pro nature bullshit but sigh, oh sigh, mankind is destine to wipe itself out. I don't think there has been any testing in the Pacific for a long time, certainly not near Australia. The CTBT has stopped a lot of that. The French were testing in Muraroa Atol in the 80's until we burned down a bunch of patisserie franchises owned by Aussie Ma&Pas. We used to let the British test their nukes on the indigenous population at Maralinga. Ahh, white people, such a wonderful humanitarian history..... CityonSMASH
watch this animated map of nuclear explosions in the 20th century and try to answer one question: what does the US military have against the Southwest? hmm, well soup. lemme rattle off a few factors that even a discarded can of mouldy campbells could figure out. lets start with oh i dunno, the fact there is ZERO natural rescources down there, and oh i dunno. the fact there are VAST areas of uninhibited unlivable desert where the only species that romes can fit in the palm of your hand or scavenge on the leftovers of dead dried up coyote carcasses. facepalm soup, facepalm. I was thinking that it might explain why cancer statistics are through the roof this past half a century. It also might explain why a lot of people who grew up during that generation are so paranoid of anything that can even remotely be linked to "socialism". Propaganda machines were probably in full force on both sides during that era.
CityonSMASH
perhaps you should move down there and conduct a survey and subsequent petition with the scorpians, snakes, vultures and sand dunes. but you may need more than a second language spoken by rice farmers and hyundai factory line assemblers. brush up on your cactus and you should be ok. JOHNIE DIZOE
Are Hyundais manufactured in the southwestern US? I thought they were made in Korea. I also had no idea that Mexican Americans and/or sunburned white people were farming rice in the deserts. I thought you needed rice paddies to grow rice.
