CityonSMASH Posted August 5, 2010 Author Share Posted August 5, 2010 seen this randomly the other night so its still fresh in my head and it was fucking nuts: as mainstreem as the poster/trailer may look, this movie was headed straight to dvd but showtime saved that from happening and aired it. its absolutely horrific what happens to this little girl and its all based on a true story. it really will make you awkward and rethink potential jokes you may or may not make amidst day to day life. im re-bumping it because i forgot to add that in the same year this film was made another was made on the exact same situation and series of events that in my girls words was wayyy more brutal in terms of how its depicted. and again, after seeing the first one i was hard pressed to see how it could have been worse. heres the other version of same case: i plan on watching it soon, the story is hard to fathom, and real. MrChupacabra Posted August 6, 2010 Share Posted August 6, 2010 martyrs is fucking insane. I'm kinda so-so on Martyrs. The first time i watched it, i thought it was pretty awesome. Then, a few months later I watched it again and barely enjoyed it at all, excluding the scenes with the best shotgun murders ever. It's definitely brutal, no doubt about it, but it really drags on and on and on. I know that was the whole point, but even so, i still think it was overdone a bit. I kinda wish all the scenes where you actually see the monster thing weren't there either.
