I still have all six. I'm pretty sure I never even looked through the last three issues. They came out during my "I'm not looking at Graffiti magazines" phase... you know, trying to be artsy and moody. They came in the mail and I put 'em in those comic book plastic sleeves and filed them away. Silly. I bet there's some good stuff in those last three issues.

Like the one dude said, it's amazing that only six issues were produced. However, being somewhat close to the producer, I can say that all in all there were many versions of each issue before one final version was sent to the printer. Definitely quality over quantity. The impact of those six issues on design books / Graffiti books is still evident today.

BTW... the image posted above... that's fire that "Alladin" got coverage in 12oz Prophet. Kid was nothin' but talent walking around, walking around.

Place those orders kids! Look at all the inks available!!

Novel Alert: Need not read if nead not care...

i used to have the 12oz b&w poster with the character on top and the lettering down low. its been so long since iv seen one, i wanna say it was mear that drew it but im not 100 onnit. always wanted the giant one to, as i elluded to in an earlier post up top.

the twist ones cover was off the chain to, chisel tipped perfection.

i try not to give critiques where my voice has no bearing and/or advice when my words have no voice, but 12oz is a staple in the graffiti culture. thats not gonna change. shit you guys have found a way to keep my attention some 3000+ times in the past few months alone without any graffiti related clicks.

i dont forget the mid 90's, the pioneer magazines(as much as me and my circle were against them and the internet because of cross city biting contamintion by the weakest links, yet we were the first to pick em up and get glued to em as long as they were in our hands like whoa) ie:12oz/cancontrol/lifesucksdie a little later on, the first really dope videos malicious mischeif/repeat offender etc etc etc and would far rather put buck towards this site for that reason alone. not to mention as my way of giving back to a site i obviously use in a form of venting a vice of opinons ranging from the purest of pure to the rediculous often times random obscurities of whatever the fuck jolt of thought my brain puts out on a second by second minute to minute basis.

all that being said leading up to my slip in the feedback box im about to give, i think there needs to be more offered than krink/paint. im not sure if its a distrobution factor that has to legally hold back on that statement and/or any other potential reasoning for the focus to be solely paint based but id love to see more books/dvds/limited edition clothing and on and on.

i tend to use hardware store standard paints and stationary/office supply store markers. but i do from time to time order poster paint markers and pilots online from time to time generally in relatively large doses so i dont have to keep ordering multiple times. perhaps that would be an angle, aswell as i do now in my old age wear a subtle graff related shirt as a 'for those that know' type angle where as when i was younger and very active, bombing buses and making night moves the last thing i needed was a graff tee doing my talking for me if i got rolled on. and therfor never wore.

yall have more resources and credability on your side than virtually any other graffiti related media's could or ever will. every writer in the world weather beside there name has bold green/yellow or white writing with one, two, eleven or 5 tictacs underneath not to mention the rediculous cast of bloggers you have under your healm. it would be very kool to see as i mentioned earlier limited edition 12oz tees by various writers.

i'd buy. also, perhaps another idea would be more coffee table like books maybe showcasing 'best of' flicks from the site that the literal thousands of writers upload each day. shows a respect back to the members(and i say that extremely passively as you really dont owe anyone anything, in fact it being quite the opposite) but that kind of gives a sense of excitement and/or uniquness that creates buzz, and buzz creates money.

i love graff hard kover books, buy most all of em that arent european based and would personaly love to see a series of like maybe one on strictly tags and the now seemingly lost ART of a proper handstyle aswell as what should be showcased as originality and uniquness amidst a sea of what appears to just be a standard graffiti type "font" aswell as others like just throw-ups, another of just piecing and maybe something like a rooftop hard cover book(s).

theres a ton of old dudes still active that now apart from younger years having a- money to spend on them and b- the interest in seeing such collectives, aswell as the now widely known fact alot of these writers than go coast to coast country to country city to city do so, because they were born rich and therefor have pockets weather they fit that class or there just rich kids from the burbs. graff has changed alot since the 12oz inception, and it aint the days of having to take transit for hours on end to get to hard to find unkown to the gen pop boosting spots. everything writers new and old need now is so finely tuned as a medium just for them at the click of a button away.

heres an example that perhaps reflects not only the point im making, but also the loayaties with the 12oz brand itself where i bought this no hesitation from a homies shop when i came across it. my coffee table at this exact moment, apart from me proping the book up to show thats where it sits once pulled off the shelf underneath:

/no rant

/no shai

if you made it thru this web of dexedrine and sincere intrest hopefully some of my points may spark some of your own ideas on furthering the brand if that thought of possibly extending your reach is on some sort of agenda.
