I pray I never have to go to a concert ever again for the rest of my life.

They were cool and all as a teen, somewhere to go and do drugs.

But I hate crowds, I hate teens, and I hate people in general.

I don't do drugs anymore, so concerts have nothing to offer me but a headache.

Gwar shows are fun as shit.

The first time I saw Municipal Waste was fun 'cause they threw out some boogie boards and shit so stage diving was a blast.

PLF puts on a great show and the pit is always good (if you're into that)

Haven't really been to any good shows lately.

Gonna see Crystal Castles with a friend pretty soon, first time I go to that type of concert.

i just want to see as many bands as possible so i can brag about it to my kids. i know i was jealous as fuck whenever y dad would hear me listening to sabbath or skynyrd and hed tell me about when he saw them live.

^^ this

it used to annoy the hell outta me when my parents would brag about seeing all the great bands from the 60s/70s

my only comeback was that they never saw Hendrix

my dad saw hendrix in a bar before he went by hendrix :o

but its funny, because now he likes silversun pickups and cage the elephant and i saw both of them.

silversun pickups was boring as hell when they were up but cage the elephant made up for it with their energy.

I saw MGMT play 2 years ago when they were in their prime and they sucked soo much live.

Their music is best heard on cd, I wouldnt bother.

I've been looking at videos and whatnot, and they did suck live a couple of years ago.

For whatever reason, they can play the songs off of Congratulations much better live.

A few years I worked ina media agency booking advertising space

websites were always offering inducements to book with them so I'd take them upon them.

saw Ozzy Osbourne

and in a weird turn of events saw Justin timberlake which strangely was a good night.

Fully catered corporate box with waiters bringing me beers on a silver tray while pubeless girls screamed by the thousands in the crowds down below.Dropped off home in a limosine.

Defy anybody not have been entertained when you compare it to the tuesday night I was gonna have.

The last concert I went to was a festival in jan

Ugly duckling

roots manuva

method man and redman

Next men,

ed rush

was good but the last concert for one group I went to was EPMD and they were really good.

Silian rail is an awesome band to see live.

They play just as good if there's only three people in the room or a multitude.

Whenever they come through sacramento I try to go to their show.

Heres a nice video of them-

http://chasingthemoon.pdcst.com/2009/03/silianrail/

Dusty Brown is always a good time.

Sibling rivalry and catty family talk is hilarious.

Oh and speaking of them...Tycho is great.

If anyone can get a chance to see tycho and dusty brown play

together you should go. It might be a good show if you are into that

sorta thing.

Silver darling plays with an intensity that I

would suggest for anyone to check out.

Last band I saw was sea of beas and john vanderslice .

I had no idea john vanderslice had such a huge

following. It was the first time I had even heard any of his music.

So I got to hear him and his million fans singing.

That's got pro's and con's.

I went and saw my friend's band the other night. It was okay considering they hadn't played for a while. Their sound has changed a lot since the last time I saw them (2005 or so).

I used to go to a ton of shows but I've been slacking pretty hard lately. The only bands I would go out of my way to see would be Wilco and The Dead Weather. Maybe Iron and Wine, speaking of Calexico (who are excellent as well.) Built To Spill is hit or miss, but

I'd like to see Cap'n Jazz when they play here, but I'm not sure if I'll be around. And Unrest, if they ever make it to the West Coast.

(In case you're thinking "Wilco? What?" watch this....they're a great live band. IOU- watch that, I think you'll like what you see.)

mgmt sucks. sorry duder.

im going to see sleep and capn jazz. both reunions (yeah reunions can kinda suck too). just saw the pixies reunion for the second time and god damn, it was well worth it.

im seeing a local band - fleshies in sept. pumped for that.

What did the Cap'n Jazz tickets cost?

I don't really care about the Sleep reunion as much as I should. Matt Pike has done a lot of things I can't really abide by in the years since Sleep.

Also...the lead guitarist from Wilco does some solo/sde projects, his name is Nels Cline and he is definitely worth seeing at least once.

I would love to see two gallants.

The only time they were playing near me

I missed out.

It is my mission to catch them live.

My offer to see them with you stands, yet I still don't think they've played since the Oscar Grant benefit at Gilman last year. I'll ask around, I'm sure someone in SF knows what's going on with them.

I saw Two Gallants at least fifteen times from 2004 to 2006. With the exception of one show at a friend's house where they were so wasted they couldn't sing, they are by far one of the best bands I've seen in a long time.

The Fleshies are another good live band even if the lead singer almost broke my leg when he jumped off stage and landed on me at a warehouse show in 2005.

when I was in sf two gallants were playing all the time

50 do you happen to know if the fleshies are playing any shows in late august? I might be arounddddd

^ I thought they would be playing there a lot.

But I've been having a hard time finding out

when these shows are and being available to go them.

Shai, that would be awesome.

I just checked their site out.

It says the last time they played was

in the spring and that was separately?

Yeah, they haven't been doing anything that I've heard of. We have mutual friends, it would be easy for me to find out the story but I think their success may have something to do with them playing less.

Another good band in a similar vein to TG is the Trainwreck Riders, but they're another band I haven't heard much about recently. They're affiliated loosely with TG through the Mission scene.
