Guest BROWNer
photoshop question 4009: i've got my image....then i go to the type tool.... now i want to rotate my type without rotating the whole 'canvas'.......do i have to open up a new document and do my type, then rotate and paste it??? what if i want all the letters jumbly? say i wanted one straight, then one sideways, then upside down? <^>
Guest imported_Tesseract
If you pick the layer that the fonts are on and go to EDIT>TRANSFORM>ROTATE you'll get the job done. If you wanna have more than one you should right click on the layer and 'DUPLICATE LAYER' as many times you want, then trasnform eachone separetely as you wish :)

Guest imported_Tesseract
Aha!!!! You'll have to go letter by letter, I'm trying to think of the simpliest way.... So before doing any rotations, duplicate the layer and 'Flip horizontal' the one, select(use the lasso) the letter you wish to be mirror mirrored(:D ) and delete it (cut). Go to the other layer (the unmirrored one) and cut all the letters exept the one you want to use. Now place the letter on the right posistion and keep visible those two only(declick that little eye icon on the layer pallete on all the others) go to LAYER>MERGE VISIBLE. The word is now ONE layer, rotate it as said above. Or if all this is complicated get on AIM
Guest BROWNer
okay...that was a bit complicated for my beginner status, but i got it.......but instead of the lasso i used the magic wand.... thanks tesseracthttp://www.12ozprophet.com/ubb/icons/icon26.gif'>
Guest imported_Tesseract
Just make sure that the 'magic wand' doesnt leave any pixels around(it usualy happens) Thats why i always suggest when using the magic wand to SELECT>MODIFY>EXPAND>1PIXEL. That helped me a lot in general
