Made drug dealingseem very glamorous, what with those hot women and giant portable phones. And I always like Tubbs better than Crockett. Magnum PI was a pretty good cop show, too. Drue_Down Posted June 29, 2010 Share Posted June 29, 2010 The movie was a revised version of "smugglers blues" episode, which is why it was easy for me to follow: http://www.hulu.com/watch/12180/miami-vice-smugglers-blues (The actor who played Calderone wrote this episode, this is the best episode IMO) Sure, Mann did not do his usual character development, but fans of the series did not need that shit. It should be assumed you know the crew and their backgrounds already. Also, the theatrical version fucked up by cutting to the club scene, it lost the entire audience. The boat race was important to establish the prostitution sting and how they knew who the runners were by looking at the night surveillance video. The Dir cut also cut out some dumb scene in Haiti. My beef was the accents, it was tough to hear what most characters were saying. I also wish they let Jan do the soundtrack. Other than that, i liked the movie.
