abcs
a mil??? i was thinking about doing if for a tenth of that. And an escape tunnel in case shit. Have it drop me on the next block somewhere. Have the entrance to my escape tunnel be a big ass safe built into a thick concrete wall. A hole in the bottom of the safe leading to my tunnel. So in order to access it i close the safe door behind myself and then leave a tape recorder running with me on there talking shit... for example... Take your gun off and pack it in your ass. Fuck you cop. Im never coming out. I got rations beer and containers to piss in.
Drue_Down
We should have a big dance-n-graff-a-thon fund raiser to save Detroit like "Miracles" in Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo

vharkano
So alot of people from around my way are buying up whole lots/streets at a time over in Detroit and renovating/building new houses .... Next year might fly over with like 30gs and buy some land. If this is accomplished I will hold a massive block party for the oontz.
Realism
a mil??? i was thinking about doing if for a tenth of that. Yeah, I just gave that as a round number so all the world experts in here wouldn't jump down my throat /NH on some NAW DOG I RENT AN APARTMENT I KNOW ALL ABOUT REAL ESTATE shit...I bet you could probably do it for at least half that...buying the houses would be cheap as hell but you'd probably get reamed for the tunneling, not to mention running electricity through the underground complex/concealing the old foundations etc. Also depends on how baller you want your interiors to be I'd say.

GLEN BENTON
so, with all this talk about the place, I figured i'd share a few choice google screencaps... distance of mack ave from the border of Grosse Pointe, to the Blvd. this is the shelter at the corner of 3rd and Mack (myrtle here) this is one of the most gnar corners i've seen, this picture doesn't really give it justice, usually there are tons of tents in the fields and zombies all in the street. good example of empty lots, this is mack and st.aubin... abandoned police station at mack and gratiot... peep the rio on there... nice. directly across the street from that police station... hahahahah more empty lots off mack these next few are some of the more gnar shots of a less than 2 MILE stretch of Hamilton. hamilton hamilton hamilton hamilton hamilton hamilton hamilton My man dirty Dems on hamilton. hamilton hamilton

GLEN BENTON
same spot, fixed roof. matter o' fact, in the top flick, there's a small brick building behind that house, the first fill-in i caught was right there. in detroit you don't worry about the buff, you worry about the spot being torn down. dcay
I played baseball a few times at some park down by that police station somewhere, it was super sketchy. abcs
University of Michigan isn't in Detroit. Its like an hour west of the city. Ann Arbor is nice tho. A lot more livable than Detroit. but prestige isnt cheap. U of M Dearborn is still U of M and the degrees look the same but its cheaper and easier. By that token if you got it like that or can get scholarships Ann Arbor. I couldnt envision moving to Dearborn from out of state to attend U of M Dearborn. Its not that kind of school. Like moving to a random suburb to go to a community college from out of state
Drue_Down
UM Dearborn is for the flunky townies..... the A2 alumni laugh @ them in their arrogant manner. My wife is from Dearborn and UM A2 grad, I get dragged back there once a year. I get compensated with tix to the Big House and a weekend of tailgating. The White Castle is a perk too. abcs
My GPA is 3.66. I graduated highschool with a 2.8 and HAD i applied to Michigan Ann Arbor i would have been declined. I could apply for a masters program in Ann Arbor and maybe get accepted. Really not sure what they require of a grad student. I suppose UM A2 grads can and will laugh at Dearborn grads but I look at it like this. No matter where you go in America. University of Michigan is recognized. Chicago to Atlanta to LA to anywhere. And depending on your career path having that university seal can help you land a job. Interviewers elsewhere may not distinguish between the 2 and it would be easy to downplay at any rate. Not a terrible strategy. I never attended UM dearborn tho. 1 semester at WSU and 5 years at a different local university
Drue_Down
^^^ You're right. That is good advice, that is why the A2 set gets mad that others sponge off the UM degree. That UM degree is a powerful thing, opens all sorts of doors, unless the interviewer is a Bucknut... but we all know they don't have good jobs. abcs
its a strategy. Its always better to have one. In and of itself U of M dearborn shouldn't be considered disgraceful. Its just a school. Altho i've never been i'm sure its fine. UM A2 is going to be pretentious. Its expensive, demanding, arguably the most prestigious university in the state and has held that title for almost 200 years. Its where rich people send their kids... not ivy league but labeled a public ivy.
