If you read up about him and his work he has a pretty strong artistic integrity present through his music. In my opinion, it's one of the strongest artistic integrities actually around today. So I wouldn't even begin calling it 'elevator music.' But ultimately, like all music, it all comes down to foundations of taste. Guess it's just not your jam. I'm actually currently writing a thesis on Flying Lotus as a modern day afro-futurist, so I'm learning a bunch of shit about him and his music.
