Step8 Posted June 12, 2010 Share Posted June 12, 2010 I think the rule is that a player is offside if he is between the last two players of the opposing team. In 99% of the cases the last player on the opposing team is the goalie. In this case the player was between the keeper and a defender on the goal line. It is kind of a backwards situation. Uruguay kept their cool and realized they had to defend even though they seemed to get past FR defence pretty well. France wasn't as clever offensively, so the result was 0-0.
