Basically. Your states are so fucking lame, and boring that the only thing to do to pass the time is to drink away your depression induced by the soul crushing lameness of your states.

Rest of the world> Midwest.

I could give a fuck about their studies, statistics, or data. This comment above is the most factual information on the page...

The Midwest is terrible, I don't know why everyone who lives there doesn't move south.

THIS. the midwest is god awful.the weather sucks here, theres nothing to do unless you enjoy watching corn grow and its like a death trap.if you stay here too long you get stuck here and cant afford to move anywhere else.its like one of those fly traps...

there is absolutely nothing here except drinking, fucking, blow shit up in the woods...tahts about it.and shooting things.but that kinda goes with the blow shit up in the woods catagory...

but we do have hella freights so thats good.

Ma mère était née dans l'état de Wisconsin et je suis née à Chicago, mais je ne bois pas beaucoup d'alcool.

All in all I don't really care much for statistics.

your mother was born in wisconsin and you were born in chicago but you don't drink much alcohol

is my year 12 level french correct in that?

FloatingSheep loves to stick data on maps, thereby graphically illustrating the data, and one of their new maps is a real lulu. Using stats gleaned from Google Maps, they

did a simple comparison between grocery stores and bars to discover a remarkable geographically [sic] phenomenon. We had expected that grocery stores would outnumber bars and for most parts of North America that is the case. But we could also clearly see the "beer belly of America" peeking out through the "t-shirt of data." Starting in Illinois, the beer belly expands up into Wisconsin and first spreads westward through Iowa/Minnesota and then engulfs Nebraska, and the Dakotas before petering out (like a pair of love handles) in Wyoming and Montana.

In other words, on the map above every patch of red represents a location where bars outnumber grocery stores. Dubious at the results, they looked at official 2007 Census Country Business Pattern data. And it matched up.

It's easier to see on the full sized map: although Illinois clearly loves a good tipple, all that red in Wisconsin jibes with Forbes 2006 list of America's Drunkest Cities, which had Milwaukee as the most soused metropolis in the nation. Chicago? #6.

motion_w.jpg BITCHES!!!

That chart doesn't really means shit considering that you can get takeout beer from grocery stores in a lot of states, and a lot of people don't drink at bars too often.

I know a lot of people who drink on the regular and only go to bars every now and then.

Plus the fact that the red encompasses baron ass states where there's barely any people.

Not to mention having to sell beer and liquor in separate stores and not being able to buy beer in any amount under a case unless you go to an overpriced take-out store or bar. Pennsylvania has some shitty laws.

:hatred:

yeah, but in PA can you get "beer to go" @ a bar?

i'd love to be able to grab a 12pack to go @ last call to keep the party goin
