gasfacevictm
I was thinking THIEF would be a dope remake, with the right cast & Michael Mann. BLASPHEMY! That movie is perfect the way it is and the soundtrack is incredible. I don't know about that Micheal Mann part. Let's be honest.. They would fuck this movie up. Michael Mann part? He made the original and it was badass. If they do remake Thief, I could only hope they use him for the job. It worked out when he remade one of his own movies and turned it into Heat. I do agree that they need to leave Thief alone though. PISS IN THE RADIATOR. They're also remaking Vison Quest. My youth is being systematically butchered. Mercer
Remaking the warriors is probably the stupidest Idea I've heard. The low budget and weirdo shit that made that movie great can't ever be recreated. Hopefully whoever is doing it isn't imitating the original and coming up with something original along the same lines. As for Red Dawn, that movie was fucking awesome as a kid. As kids we set up an fort on some abandoned railroad tracks and pretended to be fending off the Russians. Good times, although if I were to watch the original now it wouldn't be the same and probably suck. I really can't see that remake being anywhere near as awesome but ain't mad about it either. One movie I'd like to see right about now is Frank Herbert's "Dune". Not a remake, the original, I'm about to search for it now.
the_gooch
mercer, i heard something about a possible dune movie. i hope they pull it off. the sci-fi channels version was pretty good. also, i was reading that the warriors remake was supposed to take place in cali. i don't think they can make it work. red dawn could work though. but we'll see. christo-f
Ok, I have to say it. I've never seen Red Dawn. Neither have I seen a Rocky or Rambo movie. I'd like to see a remake of Conan with all the CG shit they have now but no one could replace Arnie.
shaolinmasta
Neither have I seen a Rocky or Rambo movie. Damn you are missing out First Blood and the first Rocky movies are absolute classics.
earl broclo ESQ
The remake of the Warriors is set in L.A. and the only parallel comparison is that one gang has to bop it's way back to it's neighborhood after Cyrus is killed. The gangs are going to be modern and probably neighborhood based opposed to theme based.
Mercer
That's what I'm saying, at least they aren't trying the same shit. They need on site shoots in the actual LA neighborhoods at least though, NYC was almost like a main character in the first movie.
christo-f
Yeah and it's going to be all catch phrase glorified cliche vin diesel type shit. Last real gritty piece of work I saw was Sin City and Pulp Fiction.
