abcs
cell phones are on some slick shit. This whole designation of 3G and 4G I was always curious about that. Without giving it much thought at first i thought they meant 3gb of memory as now a lot of these phones have web capability... But after i added a gig of memory to my laptop i decided that phones wouldnt require all that ram and adding 3gb would make the phone cost more, and wouldnt allow them to make it the size they would like... So i thought perhaps this meant 3ghz processor. or 3 little micro mini cores or something. I dont know much about processors and decided this is probably not the case. So i looked it up. All that 3 G means is 3rd generation. Talk about ambiguity.I thought this 3 or the 4 for these new 4th gen phones had some type of deeper meaning
iloveboxcars
The generic term, 3G, is used to denote the next generation of mobile systems designed to support high-speed data transmission (144Kbps and higher) and Internet protocol (IP)-based services in fixed, portable and mobile environments. abcs
i would expect other people besides myself to be confused by this. I also expect the phone companies are none to opposed to these kinds of misconceptions
