i got my FAFSA refund in last month and i went through over a G in like 1 1/2 weeks so i figured i was gonna be broke until either tax fund comes through or i get a job. But no, i get a letter in the mail today saying i got another grant from my school for $750 for living expenses.

Say word, son.

nice! i remember those good old days.

now, the trick is, get a job that gives you tuition reimbursement. if you will still be in school while working, keep applying for the financial aid but apply for the tuition reimbursement too. you may be able to situate it so you are not only going to school for free but making money from two sources because of it, the job and the financial aid.

i'm probably gonna get crazy grants next year

too old to have to file what my parents made

+

half of 2009 worked under the table

= taxes filed only showed me making like 10k all year

when you file, see if you qualify for:

http://taxes.about.com/od/deductionscredits/qt/education.htm

http://www.nasfaa.org/redesign/taxbenefitsguide.html

the more expenses you have the better: transportation, books, supplies, etc...

The FAFSA is the business. It paid for all my school expenses this semester.

Seriously, being broke is no excuse to not go back to school. in fact, going back to school is a lot easier if you're broke as fuck because you're usually entitled to a lot more student aid.

Just have all your tax information ready when you fill it out

same story except i filed $20k last year

my EFC was 4592

which means i could only get $915 or so per YEAR... or half that per semester. but i don't qualify to get it since i'm only taking half time instead of full time (6 hrs instead of 12). so again i get fucked on free monies. but next semester im going full time to get my $900 - BEELEE DAT!

pell grant ftw.
