*Australia

you seriously think just because we're on the other side of the world we would never have heard of Flavor Flave?

You really like perpetuating stereotypes don't you?

hmm. ok,

if they are willing to be their own travel agents they might be able to get a better trip.

basically, if they find a hotel online that is cheap at their location, like say they are looking for cheap hotels in paris, check http://www.tripadvisor.com, look for paris hotels, top 20 values.

or whatever other destination they have in mind.

then get the rate off expedia.com or whatever. when you find the best rate, call the hotel and tell them it's a honeymoon trip and the rate you found and see if maybe you can get some kind of upgrade for free, like to a better room or whatever.

if calling the hotel is too expensive, mention it on checkin at the hotel to try for free extras.

it may work on the airline but that is way less likely.

there are cheaper destinations that could be very interesting, like belgium or poland.

spain and france are the perennial destinations, top two in the world. so they will be harder to get cheap. try rome. i have been there cheaply before too. it's a very romantic city. old, slow paced. beautiful, dirty. trevi fountain and colosseum are about as good as eiffel tower i think.

if they really need something cheap though, canada or vermont could probably deliver.

they will be in a bedroom a lot right? or is that a cliche?
