Racking gone wrong

Recommended Posts

So,some months ago, I drunkenly removed an item from a store

it was worth five bills.

I was apprehended by security, who took it from me.

They asked me to produce I.D, or they'd have to get POlice involved.

Two months later I recieve a letter from http://www.lossprevention.co.uk.

They want me to pay 100bills in costs of dealing with the situation.

lord knows how they got my address.

After ignoring the first letter,I recieved another a month later, with an extra 10 bills

added, and threats of court action.

Frankly, I'm broke, and would rather not do this. Although if it is going

to be a pain in my ass I will pay it. But it's a conundrum for now.

Anyone know the law regarding this, or managed to get out of a similar scenario

without pleading insane.

I know I was retarded and drunk, but this seems a tad excessive.

Curse you, alcohol

I don't know how it is in the UK, but I can't possibly see this even being legal.

How are they even going to prove that they really caught you stealing shit when they never even got the cops involved in the first place?

Can't you just show up at court and say that they shook you down for no reason and ran your pockets for your ID?

Shit sounds shady to me.

I figured if they were going to go to these measures they would have to

have footage or something. Also, it is a civil case, not a criminal case,so according to the site

it has nothing to do with the cops.

I'm in Ireland, but the chain of shops is English,

so they are claiming 100bucks from me overseas.

a friend of a friend is up for statutory rape after cheating on his 18 yr old gf with 15 yr olds (hes 18)

he is a firm believer of denial and claims the problem will just go away if he ignores it.

he has police parked outside his house most days.

hope this helped

give that man a medal. if the cops had shit on him he would have already been taken away.

then again strip him of that medal cause if he had any fuckin brains in him no one would have ever known he fucked a 15yr old.
