oh word? sounds like you sure know what youre talking about....

http://www.pernod.net/histoire/absinthe/index.htm

In 1805, Henri-Louis Pernod founded the company "Pernod Fils" in Pontarlier, in the Doubs region of France, and soon developed sales of absinthe.

Success was certain. Known as the "green fairy", absinthe became the favourite drink of artists seeking new tastes. The painters Manet and Degas and the poets Verlaine and Musset immortalised it in their works.

*note the "soon developed..."

Pernod is not Absinthe.

Anyway i was always under the impression that the only reason people had hallucinations and stuff back in the old days was because it was either made or drunk out of a LEAD pipe....

the shit is nasty anyway, last time i had some i threw my guts up for hours.

under the assumption vodka and whiskey are 80 proof. multiply 80 by 50% or .5, then add the result to the original number.

80 x .5 = 40

80 + 40 = 120

or

150% of 80 is 120

Righto, I made the assumption of 90-100 proof for vodka, but we I might be buying stronger vodka here than most places so I didn't really consider that. Makes sense if the vodka is 80 proof. Sorry about that.
