Schnitzel
Part of a lino cut I'm working on for a valentines day card for my girl. anyone do lino cutting? Any tips the shit is really hard to get right and despite gettign the lino from quite an expensive art store it seems a bit crumbly. How deep do you need to get the negative sections? Will post finished picture later I'm going to layer this with thin layers of light coloured ink on some heavy absorbant paper and then do some line work with a calligraphy pen over the top
ShortFuse
Yeah I messed with that lino crap way back and after I tried it once or twice I kinda just let it be. Good luck with it.

ShortFuse
Well being that the first paint job was duller than a box of rocks I figured Id repaint the damn thing... not bad for Opps paints. Kinda has a more "fun" look to it.
Hayabusa
i like that paintjob more!
EliAlibi
RE: linocuts I'm a printmaker by trade, and found masonite to be really user friendly as far as beginning intaglio. It doesn't flake or chip easily.

ERIZENO
I didnt see them till reading that comment. White is much better in my eyes.
EliAlibi
I like them white too. Sometimes a negative space is just as powerful, and gives your eye a place to rest.
ciste
Definitely keep the white. It gives you a reason to study it longer. Looks good.
