IOU
Vivian Girls sort of remind of Luscious Jackson.. And how the fuck is the drummer ever the biggest/fattest person in a band?
Soup
Budget Rock's been sold out for a while now. Hopefully you bought your tix in adv. I get the feeling like electric prunes hasnt been mentioned because they've already had their own thread and everybody knows about them, but throw that one into this thread too. Specifically the album Axelrod produced, Mass in F minor, which took a 60's psychedelic band and made them more absurdly psychedelic (for the time). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nal82O3hMdM http://www.ilike.com/artist/The+Electric+Prunes/album/I%20Had%20Too%20Much%20To%20Dream

Gnarly Sheen
Flight I found this band scouring for new music to post on my blog. They have released a few EP's but could only find two. This is latest one and it's pretty rad. If you're into wavves, mgmt or overly distorted vocals with echoy guitar tones you'll dig it. It almost sounds like something out of the 80's and what I find strange is they're from Mississippi. http://www.mediafire.com/?v7fq22r0dmqk052 http://theworstfriends.blogspot.com/2010/08/flight.html and if you like it ... click the link and read the comments. Gnarly Sheen
Thank's soup. Based on the musical content on your blog, I think you'll dig this band. Sleepy Sun Embrace EP fever click it If you haven't heard these duds, then you've been asleep. This is off their first album. Both are insanely good. I'm pretty sure me or someone else has posted it in here, if not. Enjoy.

Gnarly Sheen
Moloch -- Early Memphis psyche / hard rock / blues Freddie King covers Goin' Down ( for those that don't know the song it's the intro to East Bound and Down) Freddie Kings version is better, but I gotta give it up to the Memphis band that opened for MC5 and The Stooges ( also good shit if you don't know what I'm talking about) Someone post something. This threads on fire
iloveboxcars
Side note before post: My speakers are unable to get loud enough to play Black Sabbath's Paranoid album correctly, which is ear bleedingly loud. Time to invest in a new audio set up.

iloveboxcars
see the problem with that soup is there has been a black sabbath poster in the living room of my house for about 5 years now and they just dont get played enough here to warrant the poster, but im trying to fix that. iloveboxcars
oh -- and I haven't been participating too much here because i've been exploring stoner/sludge lately. i am also giving my dad a mix-tape for christmas of stoner rock... because he used to listen to good music, but something got old in him and he now listens to natalie umbruglia or whatever my mom forced upon him.
