Swindle
Re: Motherfuckin' Surf/Garage/Psych Awesome Thread Full of Great this thread is really cool and i'm out of my element because i usually listen to hip hop but i really like the Immortal Lee County Killers and also this song; The Seeds would someone be able to point me in the direction of similar sounding bands? i'll never be able to sit down and click every link in this thread. oh and also does this belong here? i really like it
person
Re: Motherfuckin' Surf/Garage/Psych Awesome Thread Full of Great I guess I'd recommend the . First thing I thought of listening to the Seeds song. I really liked the riff in that Five Horse Johnson song, reminded me of this. But hated the vocals. unrelated note:

MrChupacabra
Re: Motherfuckin' Surf/Garage/Psych Awesome Thread Full of Great The Sleaze - Smokin' Fuckin' Cigs Moronic, snotty garage punk from Minneapolis. The singer has what might be the most obnoxious voice ever, and there is a one note solo, but the A side is still retardedly catchy and gets stuck in my head for days. Its so obnoxious and basic that it's great. The Bside track is kinda surfy, and kinda weird. Still garage-y as fuck. Retainers - LP Ripping fast, lo-fi, drunken, stoned garage punk. These guys put on one of the best shows in Minneapolis. Good people too. Sinks - ST EP Another from Minneapolis. Bass player from the Retainers on guitar and vocals. In the same vein as Retainers, but even more lo-fi. This one was recorded live on 2track. Sinks - No Money 7" Recorded live on 4track. Fag Cop - I'm Fucking Dead 7" This is the scummiest, noisiest, most fuzzed out, stupidly lo-fi garage punk (kinda). I doubt anyone is going to be into this at all, but i could see 1 or 2 of you possibly loving it. It's probably more of noise rock, but its pretty much all garage punk riffs and solos underneath all the noise and feedback, some of which are quite catchy. "Six tracks of mean-spirited super-shitty boom-box-recorded ear-piercing pinned-in-the-red ridiculousness." Bump because i've been listening to a ton of garage punk lately. If nothing else, get Smokin' Fuckin' Cigs, because it's so absurd and amazing. I can jam that A side all day on repeat. Here's a few more records that have been in heavy rotation lately: Retainers - Lose It 7" Brain Flannel - Tape Catchy garage punk from Charlotte, NC with male/female vocals Swinehood - In Bad Shape 7" Scummy, noisy, garage-y punk from Sweden. Drajan from Brainbombs on drums. 4 faster tracks on the Aside at 33rpm, and one 3 minute jam at 45rpm on the Bside The Daily Void - Identification Code: 5271-684346864436-4519 Weirdo noisy garage punk from Chicago. Basically Functional Blackouts with a different drummer. Young Governor - English Tim 7" Ben Cook's (Fucked Up/No Warning/Violent Minds) solo garage punk project. 2 fuzzed out, lo-fi, catchy jams.

Gnarly Sheen
Re: Motherfuckin' Surf/Garage/Psych Awesome Thread Full of Great Holy shit, how can I forget The Final Solutions. For one- the bass player was my highschool English teacher who I still keep in touch with. Secondly- Jay Reatard played drums for them and even though he was a total prick, he was incredible. This band rules. If anyone wants any album that i've dropped in here then PM me.

It's almost so painful to watch it's awesome. - Not sure what show this aired on but I'm sure Fox's consistent viewers were mind fucked. More hill-country blues than anything else...
