Goner Records has gone through the trouble of rounding up a bunch of scattered tracks and singles from the incredibly prolific Ty Segall and will be releasing them as a compilation titled simply “Singles 2007-2010″ on November 22nd. The double LP boasts 25 tracks culled from Segall’s often hard to find back catalog, and you can preorder the set now for just $23.

Anyone into Wild Flag?

This shit rocks!

From Merge Records :

"Wild Flag is a Portland, Oregon- and Washington, DC-based quartet consisting of Carrie Brownstein, Rebecca Cole, Mary Timony, and Janet Weiss. The members of Wild Flag have played in numerous and notable bands including Sleater-Kinney, Helium, Quasi, The Minders, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, and others."

Been on steady rotation all day, definitely going to at least one east coast date this month.

If you are one of the few people who enjoyed The Sleaze - Smokin' Fuckin' Cigs, then you gotta grab this one. The song PCP rips so hard.

For those of you who aren't familiar with The Sleaze, it's completely moronic garage punk with the most obnoxious vocals ever. So good.

Edit: for good measure, here's their other 7" too

Dug out my old Cramps albums the other day, don't ask me why. I was super into them when I was younger and bought every album, single and import I could get my hands on. It's been at least a good six years since I listened to them. Now that I'm older, my favorite album now has to be Psychedelic Jungle, shit is awesome. Here's a few of my faves:

Green Door -

Hands down my favorite cut on the album. Near the end of the album, when I was younger I'd usually have turned it off by now.

Green Fuzz -

Maybe tied for favorite cut. I've always dug this song. I bought a guitar at a second hand store when I was 22 after hearing Ivy's guitar on this song and attempted to learn how to play like that. Never happened.

Primitive -

Yeah. I love the original, and I love this cover.

Under The Wires -

Anyone else like Lux toned down a bit? This shit is great. My favorite version of this song is the live version on How To Make A Monster.

Human Fly - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPOVmWzeqEo

See comments for Green Fuzz. Amazing.

Domino -

Not on the album proper, but released on the Psychedelic Jungle/Gravest Hits version. This song and Uranium Rock (

) are what turned me on to the Cramps. Personally, this is the Cramps I want to here. At this point in their career, they're not too over the top, campy or kitschy.

Anyone else into them?

Also been listening to Dick Dale & The Deltones "Surfers Choice" a whole hell of a lot lately. Not a whole lot of "Surf" in this awesome thread full of great.

Surfing Drums -

Can't get enough of this damn song. For real. Listened to this at least 3 times a day for the last month.

Surf Beat -

This shit fucking rocks!

Let's Go Trippin' -

One of my favorite cuts off the album.

Misirlou Twist -

But of course.

I was pretty close to dropping a $100 to go see Dick Dale a few weeks back.

Edit: Just found this live clip on youtube of Dick Dale live in '63 performing Misirlou. Pretty sweet.
