The proposed super fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather is getting closer.

Mayweather agreed to terms for the welterweight title bout on Tuesday, multiple sources with knowledge of the negotiations.

The proposed date is March 13, although there is a chance it could move to May 1, sources said. Mayweather, according to a source close to him, is OK with either date.

i would be surprised to see this actually go down seeing that mayweather is terrified to fight pacquaio whether it be because:

a) he doesn't want to lose his "undisputed champ" title or

b) he doesn't want to be the loser of the fight that has his reputation on the line

mayweather is not a type of fighter who likes to trade. he sticks and moves sticks and moves... for the most part its been obvisouly working for him. i really wouldnt take sides on this match i would just sit back smoke a dooby and wait and find out .

IMO Mayweather will be 3 steps behind pac. He's too fast. And mayweather is fast, but pac in slowmo is still faster than mayweather. Pac likes those flurries, And the ring isnt that big.

mayweather for the :D

it's going to be tough to match or surpass the cotto/pacman fight. i'll watch anything pacman's in, but this is from an article i read a little bit back that i completely agree with:

It's going to be disappointing. Just warning you now. Floyd Mayweather Jr. could never in a million years trade punches with Manny Pacquiao. He will be on his bicycle for 12 rounds. There is no way that, at this point in his life, Mayweather wants any part of Pacquiao, a concrete-headed, indefatigable freak of nature who can finish with either hand from every angle. If Mayweather gets in the ring, he'll end up doing more laps than Steve Prefontaine did for the University of Oregon. Just keep your guard up when you're spending that $64.95.
