if your laptop sucks, yeah. essentially tor keeps your ass hidden. the packages that go with it are nothing short of amazing if you know whats good. keeps yo ass all ninja and sheeeeit on teh interwebs

i dont really do much filesharing and downloading...not to sure what effect itll have on me.

what about streaming? i stream a lot of shit to watch...

 

i also would have no clue what to do with any of these programmes that will keep my arse hidden. how would i find out about my tinternet prescence?

That's what I was going to mention about TOR. It's not intended for high-bandwidth applications since it's a shared network...in other words, if you use TOR when you're trying to download an album, it slows down the entire network for everyone not to mention the fact that anytime you download or stream through a proxy of any kind it's going to take 3-5 times as long to complete, if it works at all.

all I know is the bbc's motd won't stream on their player outside of the uk, because of "legal issues"(foreigners don't pay for tv licenses), so fuck them I'll continue to illegally download it.

and yes I know you can use proxies for the stream but it always slow everything down too much

 

 

Check out VPN's. Maybe we U.S. citizens can set something up for you redcoats

where you won't have to worry about getting caught so much?

 

Or, you can search "filetube" for rapidshare shit. I don't really know the answer,

folks. What I do know is what I've been telling you in this thread.

 

It's easy for ISP's to examine and pinpoint specifics. If you can keep things like

the RIAA, etc. out or even hinder their looking at what you're doing online it's worth

it.
