Whaddaya mean no graff on them Ferdinands...prime place to catch old, faded streaks...I would go over those with a microscope.

I have info contrary to what St. Lawrence Atlantic said. My understanding is that the CSX flats are insulated cars that typically haul beer. Some are still operational and may stay that way if they are free of defects. They're just old, that's all, and old fleets tend to show more defects. At a certain point the RR has to decide whether it's worth bringing these in piecemeal for repairs or just scrapping most of the fleet and moving in the general direction of big new hicubes. I bet they'll scrap almost all of them but a handful of blue flats will pop up somewhere with a new reporting mark stamped on. Those will be the ones that were non-defective and bought up cheap by a RR whose business is still OK right now.
