generally speaking im pretty critical of Donna but on occasion think shes great.

i like her on Cassidy and some other stuff. She needed to just tone it down a bunch.

and ya shai. That 75 hookup is kinda busy but lots of obscure jams. Only track with vocals unless im mistaken is JBGoode. Which btw is way busy

I kinda wish there was more of this show. Im gonna look for stuff like it.

ive kept this window open for almost a week.

Beacon Theatre 1976-06-14

Great show. I have my favorites in there. Always looking for the perfect crazy fingers

which this one is not but its pretty nice. A Brown Eyed Woman that strikes me. A version of Slipnot I listened

to over and over

There's a Family Dog show from around 1969 where the Dead played a bunch of covers with Hot Tuna and John Cipollina from Quicksilver Messenger Service. Definitely one of my favorite shows...I think I got it off of Archive.org.

never really gave Supplication a fair play. I would put on Lazy Lightening, not be feelin it, and put something else on. Then it hit me. Supplication is astonishing. It allowed me to dig on Lazy Lighteing too. I can see why they lined it up like this. Talk about silver threading the golden needle.

Nassau Coliseum on 1980-05-15

This is a stunning example. Rest of the show was hot too. I was a day old and hundreds of miles away

Well played.

3 year post Jerry anniversary

The crowd loses its shit.

Over and over and over again.

I witnessed this. It was incredible. People were losing their minds from oldschool deadheads to young kids not ten years old when Jerry passed. Everyone completely lost it. Tears of joy spilling all over that place.

Hey abcs-

1. Watch the third link I posted up there...spoiler- extremely stoned Jerry talking to a very uncomfortable Hugh Hefner followed by a perfect "Mountains of the Moon."

2. Check out the reissue of Aoxomoxoa...I'd like to get your take on it.

And....GO!

hahahah yea that MOTM is great. A little too hippy for my tastes but Hugh Heffner (sp) cracks me up. I wish he would have just said moneypenny a bunch of times so Jerry could have cheesed out harder. Dude was visibly out of his element in his own damn house. Hugh Heffner is a dominant presence and personality but then so is Jerry who just chuckled a bunch and brushed him off. Room wasnt big enough for the both of em. Hugh knew it and Jerry was too stoned to give a shit.

never listened to any studio releases. I will check it out tho and let ya kno. I like the cover art on The Workingman's Dead. If i was still 16 I would want that on a poster.

Probably buy tickets for Furthur in Chicago later on today after school. Its a Friday show. Saturday they play in Wisconsin. Depending on how Friday is I will shoot north to catch Saturday which will probably be a smaller show. I rather see them in a small venue than has been booked in Chicago

between the "Grateful Dead Soundboard Shows" on pirate bay

and this 50gb download I got on Demonoid with the the Dicks Picks

a lot of the other released shows, and the studio projects Im a little

overwhelmed. The Demonoid DL was kinda a mystery. There wasn't

much description in terms of its contents but im pleased. Only thing

that kinda bugs me is some is in .flac format. The Dicks Picks and

some of the other stuff is MP3 tho. I had to refolder the Dicks picks

to move it off my Mac and onto my externalHD. Permission problem?

flac is the way to go if you've got the sound system for it, or if you want to burn them to disc. They're playable on a computer via VLC. You can always convert them to mp3 (VBR/VO preferred) for listening to on ipods and things of the like. Not sure if that's obvious info, but just the same, flac is great...lossless as they can get, for the most part.

Thanks to Ed Maier for this compilation:

"This is an 8 disc set of all Garcia. Mixed with much love using Vegas Pro 3.0. Selections are taken from The Grateful Dead, Reconstruction, Legion of Mary, JGB & Garcia/Grisman. A week straight of late nights went into this mix and a bit of red wine. Many tracks are continuous even though they are from different shows. Thanks to JBL for the inspiration. And above and beyond thanks to Garcia for showing us the way. This is for the people. Enjoy."

92-95 phish >= 92-95 GD

Listening to old phish hookups is whats real good.

first show i seen wasn't till 96 or 7

Wasn't able to pull off shows in multiples

till 99. A bit too young for the GD. Now

that being said given the opportunity today

it goes without saying i would rather catch

a extra marginal 94 GD than an epic 94 phish.

The audience is a bit different to what im used to. end of song jam is extra fresh

Now you're really speaking my language. Phish was the greatest band in the world in 1995 and 1997. I'm more partial to the fall '95 shows, though- some great memories from back then. That FEFY and the stage setup is pretty much how I remember Phish when I started seeing them in 94. Smaller crowd, Mike's mom's artwork hanging as the backdrop. I was so high on LSD at my first PH show that I thought Mike was Trey playing the solo to FEFY. In fact, I didn't realize who was who until the second set when I was brought back a little closer to earth.

First show:

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=e64969679d601a07ab1eab3e9fa335cad90d213a2bfa5ad8

4/11/1994-Snivley Arena, University of New Hampshire

Check the FEFY from this. That one you posted from 93 is killer, but this one here still takes the cake IMHO.

I'd start a Phish superthread, but there's probably 4 people on this board who are into them.

And if you haven't run across this:
