Employment scams...

Between monster.com and craigslist, I put in about 20-30 resumes a week. However, a few of the jobs that I've applied for have seemed like scams designed to just fuck with an unemployed and desperate person. I applied for an office assistant position only to be told I had to obtain a credit report before I could interview. They recommended freecreditreport.com. Another position for a "content writer" wanted me to join a porn website for a free trial and write 100 words about the site. Both sites require a credit card number.

This shit seems like a fucking scam. Hell, it is a fucking scam. Have any of you unemployed oontzers come across this bullshit in your job hunt?

Here are tits and ass...

You gotta step up your craigslist game. Do like 20-30 a day, because you know hundreds of other people are doing the same thing. More apps = more chances that you're applying for something that isn't a scam, and more chances that someone will actually look at your resume.

But yeah, in the past months i've been doing a ton of craigslist job searching, as much as i hate to resort to there. It seems like at least 50% of the shit up there is scams, sending you emails asking you to go to http://www.ixc6tg7.com to give them info for a credit check or background check or whatever. Obviously they're scams, but apparently if they put out enough, they find people that are still dumb enough to fall for it.

Also, Julia Bond was way better looking before she got that terrible boob job. /nopornhound

agreed on the julia bond boob job issue, but its hella fucked up that shit is so far gone that preying on people desperate for employment is a business strategy. i've got 4 months left of unemployment, but i'd rather not have to stress about finding a job in that 4th month.

Yeah, you'd think going after people applying for jobs on craigslist isn't really the best choice of people to be trying to scam money from, since its generally a sign that they're broke and desperate for work. Thankfully i got money in the bank to support me until i find a good job, and i'm not dumb enough to fall for retarded scams.

Speaking of scams, some people tried to pull an amazing one on my 93 year old grandma the other day. Someone called her claiming they were the montreal police and i was in custody on $3000 bail for drug charges and had gotten arrested while up there with some friends. They then put someone else on the line who was supposed to be me, and "I" told my grandma that i was calling her for the money because i didn't want my parents to find out and i needed her to send me a $3000 money order to bail bondsman somewhere that wasn't even in Canada. Being 93, not completely with it, and not being aware of all the scammers out there, my grandma didn't call my parents, took out $3000 in cash and went to somewhere to try to send it out. Thankfully the people at wherever she went to get the money order didn't let her go through with it. That right there was a well thought out, and dirty scam. Go after the old people, and try enough of them until you find one who actually does have a grandson who could possibly be in that town.

easiest way to find a job, hit the street with your feet. i don't think i have ever applied for a job online. then again i'm one of those people that just has jobs randomly fall into my life when i needed them. but still, i think most of the jobs i would want to work, would not be posted on CL. but i have browsed on there before.

1. Those "scams" are niggas getting money. When you get that credit report they get paid. When you take that free porn site offer, they get paid.

2. I got my job from a Craigslist ad. If you're in the technology industry, a very large amount of reputable companies use it.

I've never gotten as many solid call backs as when I responded to Craigslist ads.

That was basically pre/early-recession though.
