When I was a kid, I thought "cursive" handwriting was how we were supposed to write when we became adults, and how adults wrote. Turns out, I don't know one adult that actually writes in cursive, except maybe formal handwritten letters, and even that's rare.

Seems like an obsolete style of writing that should be reserved for certain formal Hallmark cards.

You ever look at your grandparents signatures?

Epic.

My grandfather who was an engineer for Boeing and Honeywell has these sick uppercase R's and S's that would put many to shame.

My grandfather is left handed, but in school if he tried to write with his left they would beat him. thus his handwriting being shady with either hand.

fuckin bizarre really

i remember back at school when i would get incident reports written by my head of school (dude was 60ish) he would write in cursive faster than i possibly can normally and it was always perfect, letters were all the same consistently it looked really impressive. it's a shame that no one in this generation would have or want to learn it but it's pretty obsolete now anyway.

No,

your grandfather is awesome.

Cursive was for torture and discipline.

Now we have spoiled rotten turd kids and since schools don't want to inconvienece them, it's easier to cut it out of the curriculm rather then actually make them learn anything.
