christo-f
Psych SUCKED a whole battalion of cock for text prices. Govt/Int. Relations was great. the lecturers were really relaxed and a lot of the time had their staff just photocopy the various chapters in books and had kinkos put them together in a reader that would cost $15. You ended up with like a book and a half at the end, was awesome. Some of the psych staff were good to, they'd put their notes and power points up on the net for you to download and keep for yourself as well. What I hate about texts is the second edition, 4th edition, 10th edition. Most of the time they'd only add in a few extra references or notes here and there but you'd be asked to get the most recent edition every year instead of buying a cheap second hand copy. Or when the lecturer requires you to buy the book that they wrote themselves...., that's the fucking pits.

SwampFightOner
My sister was a manager for Barnes & Noble for years, and would make serious bank running scams with textbook buy backs/sales
CALIgula
oh...and another rip off thing that book companies are doing now is you pay like half the price of the book and you get the ebook online....but you only have access to it for like 3 months, and then thats it....no hard copy to sell back or anything. plus they have the pages protected so you cant save them....im sure you might be able to capture screenshots if you really want....but screenshots of an entire book would take forever. T.T Boy
you can google book most everything. or rack two copies, sell one brand new, and resell the second after that. fuck paying for books. going back to uni oner.
LEVEL 75 PALADIN
Try to get international editions. They aren't supposed to sell them in the states, but you get them for pennies on the dollar. Same exact content, but might be a flimsy paper cover instead of a hardcover. Richard Dunn
I found that $200 spanish book for 60 on amazon. That and the $35 for the online part (where I do all my homework for the class) is a lot, but still better than 200.
