The technological killer is this new LCD display medium that is as thin as a bed sheet and bendable. Moving picture display is about to be weatherproof and cheaper than dirt. Probably I skipped to CGI and animation last night because I'd just seen UP again. The montage in the beginning is so good, SO good. I just don't see how the bar doesn't get raised so that 'art' has to measure up to that. As Soup pointed out, poeple don't take pictures anymore. I mean, they do but they don't... now it's all video. You don't think about shutter speed, f/ stops or depth of field, you just point and click... and you get motion pictures out of your cell phone. I mostly started thinking about this when Kodak withdrew support for Kodachrome over the summer but I haven't been able to let it go.
