Seffiks Posted August 18, 2009 Share Posted August 18, 2009 Ok DAO this is what yer settings need to be, and these are the add-ons you need first get the latest firefox http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.5.2&os=win&lang=en-US after you have that installed now we have to add some add-ons I will supply you the links to download them https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2207?src=api http://www.customizegoogle.com/ those are the main ones I always use but go ahead and check out more go ahead and go into Tools ( on the ) title bar and I follow the screen shots below this is what yer options should look like. You should now be all set, As you mentioned FF is slower than IE this is true do to the fact that its running more security in the background when you first open up firefox but the speed compared is less then 2 second when searching websites there is no difference, opera is the fastest of the webbrowser war but its running on the IE engine which has huge security holes in it. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
autoteller Posted August 18, 2009 Share Posted August 18, 2009 long story short, there are more viruses and spyware written to take advantage of internet exploder vs. firefox. opera is good, but it doesn't support sites with a lot of flash and such too well (at least the last time i used it). it's just generally safer and allows for less worries in the long run. Because to me, it fucking sucks and the only reason I ever bother to use it is in times like this when for whatever reason Opera won't open. 1) The shit is slower than Internet Explorer. 2) It doesn't memorize your websites, thus you have to type in the entire http://www.12ozprophet.com/forum, instead of just typing in the 1 and the rest coming up on it's own. 3) Every time I click on a link and I'm done watching the Youtube video or whatever and I instinctively click the red X when I'm done, it kicks me off the internet entirely. Then I have to go through the whole motions of clicking back onto the shit, sitting there with my thumb up my ass (/nofingerbang) waiting for this slow ass shit to load again, then typing in the whole "www.12ozprophet.com/forum" all over again, then logging in again just to find the thread that I was on and pick up where I left off. Sure I could avoid all that by simply pressing the back arrow when I'm done with the link, but my instinct is to click the red X when I'm done with a link, and why should I be bothered with retraining my psyche? Seriously, the only thing good about this shit is the spell check. And I could honestly give a fuck about a spell check. I'm just looking for some other reasons (besides the spell check) why this Firefox shit is so hype. Cause whatever they are, the shit has flown completely over my head.
