HoneyMoon.

Getting hitched at the end of August. I'm trying to book a week away after that. Honeymoon if you will. I'm not interested in an hippy traveling, hiking, etc. I want a resort where I don't have to do shit but drink and sit around the beach. I'm looking in this area (map below). I don't want to fly beyond 5 hours from Chicago. So that limits me somewhat. Any one been to any of these spots? Bahamas, Caribbean Sea, Aruba, Punta Cana, etc..etc? I need a spot and want to book it next week. Suggestions would be great.

If you've been to a dope resort- suggest it please. 5 and 6 star - yes, I am trying to go all out for this trip.

yo if you wanna scheme extra hard, rent out a house near a resort, find out what color towel the resort uses, pay someone fifty bucks for their name and room number, and wear the towel and use the persons name and room number for the entire week. no one is going to question a foreigner in the same color towel, who clearly left his/her id in their room.

i used to do this all the time when id visit friends in puerto rico, first class living for next to nothing.

I went to Atlantis in 1999 when it was only half way built, and it blew all other resorts out of the water then... today it prob off the chain. Too many kids though.

However, next time I would try smaller islands like:

Aruba / Netherland Antilles

Virgin Islands

St. Maarten/St. Martin

My ex and I went to Atlantis in the Bahamas about 2 years ago. It was pretty fucking dope... You can go into town and experience that as well. The resort itself was pretty massive with a water slide thing that goes through an aquarium, casino, tons of pools, nice beaches and good eats... I'd do it again if i had the money.

But on the way back, i was talking to woman at the airport and she was claiming this place "sandals" was an all inclusive deal for a flat rate and was telling me to look into it.

Bahamas are a plus

Im not much for letting someone else plan my vacation, but this girl i know just paid 5k for 2 people to go to some sandals resort in the area your looking. It was for 7 days. The place was on the beach, and they had a BUTLER for the week. Sounded pretty sick. And that included everything. And anything else they needed they just called the butler and he took care of it. Obviously theres not a lot of people spending money right now so the deals are really good. Have fun homie

fuck it, i'll ride out on one of those

as long as i can lay around, have unlimited booze, and really seeing some of that elusive "clear blue water" would be dope. i've never seen that close up.

Puerto Rico FTW!!! Seriously man, I've been twice and it was awesome each time. My best friend & his new wifey just got back from his honeymoon there. They loved it.

My co-worker also went on honeymoon there last month. They stayed at the Intercontinental in San Juan. She said it the amazing.

Here are some pics that I took for you:

st croix looks dope, but no all inclusive deals.

i thought about puerto rico, for some reason my girl is anti it. i will share your photos though, it might change her mind.

barbados/totolla are nice, but really far.

i guess this is helping me narrow things down...i'm thinking punta cana, and anything north of that - bahamas etc. this trip advisor website helps a lot.

and sluggo, your right about mexico, i stayed in the riveria maya before and it was pretty damn nice. i just want clear water - that is my new focus.

My suggestions are:

anguilla_719_l.jpg

Anguilla It a small Island that is a vacation spot to a lot of celebrities, so you know its the jump off. Jay-z was there on his honeymoon i think.

montserrat_480.jpg

montserrat.jpg

Montserrat It's one of the smaller islands. There was a crazy volcano explosion so half the island is not safe but the other half is unbelievable. Sick cliffs, forest and beautiful beaches.

2154332607_9ddb7025a7.jpg

St. Maarten It's a more typical location but it's supposed to be beautiful and calm. It's not as crowded as the bigger islands but its still pretty alive. I have friends who vacation there regularly.

One thing I would suggest it looking into renting a place short term. Yeah, you'd have to cook but you get a certain level of privacy that you don't at a hotel. It's also going to be bigger for much less money.

i went to puerto rico for my honeymoon and had a blast. wasn't expensive at all, and the locals were cool as fuck.

we also went at the end of aug/beginning of sept. remember its hurricane season, so dont be surprised if you get some REALLY rainy days.

Fuck mexico right now. You might end up like this

article-0-02DF133E000005DC-155_468x286.jpg

i was there when that happened i was staying about half an hour from where they found the heads.

but anyway Acapulco sucks so dont go to it even though it has its dope tourist spots. You'll be bugged by peddlers throughout your stay on the beach and they'll try to sell your anything and everything
