GLEN BENTON
What frame is that glen? Glen you ever build up that subrosa with the double top tube? that's my envy, i built it back up. i put the subrosa together and didn't have a chain to fit it, the chainstay length is a little longer on the DTT than the envy, so i said fuck it and put the envy back together honestly though, i bought that DTT because it reminded me of my old haro from when i was a kid. Yes, i want to build it up, but at the same time, i don't to thrash the shit out of it. When i get it all done, it will be the occasional shred machine, not the work horse. I'm waaaaay too attached to it now. But, i do plan on building it up with the parts from the envy every so often and dickin' around on it. as for now, i'm riding the envy as you can see it in those pictures, plus some pegs, on the left side. Richard Dunn
so how do i run a 25-30 tooth sprocket without buying a cassette hub? can you run these smaller chainwheels with a 12t freewheel? I have so many freewheel rims sitting around I would rather use than buy a new cassette hub
thealmighty...
You can run a 25-30 tooth chainwheel with a 12 tooth freewheel. The gearing will be shitty tho.
Richard Dunn
yeah that's what im trying to get around
thealmighty...
You're just going to have to buy a cassette hub if you want micro gearing.

soul vice
Nice looking bike... Indeed. Found out i can't run a rear non-drive side peg because my big ass feet will hit it when I manual.
ilovedrunk
run shorter cranks! or possibly lower profile pegs.
the graff giraffe
Indeed. Found out i can't run a rear non-drive side peg because my big ass feet will hit it when I manual. this happened to me the other day. my peg took my shoe off completely during a manual and i ended up coming down straight on my big toe. soul vice
That sounds horribly, horribly painful. I just dropped a ton of cash to fix my car so I won't be buying new cranks any time soon. Mine are pretty long though.
ilovedrunk
they are probably 174mm. most stock pinch bolt cranks are 175s. im 6 foot with a size 11 shoe and run 165mm cranks with pegs and dont get caught. the 165 feels weird at first but goes away.
