I can fully endorse wino's on tuesdays. its cheap as it gets on the strip, and its a small spot so its usually PACKED. they also have decent finger food as well, you can order a ton of stuff for next to nothing.

in addition to the fake bookshelf thing, they also have the dj up in this cramped little loft. it has a bucket on a rope so they can send up beer to him.

Heh, me and Reuben were there and a waitress said that they had to close it down because the DJ fell from there one night.

biggest mistake in Nba history. Brant Fat Counrty Reeves. i think the guy is fly fishing somewhere in montana still cashing grizzlie paycheques.

fucktard just retired when they split town.

what an absolute debaucle and embarressment to vancouver. the Nba jacked us and Micheal Heisley should be SHOT.

Stu jackson should be burned alive while dribbling a flat basketball.

and was at the first grizzlie game, and the last. i got escorteed out of Gm place during the final grizzlies game by police officers because in a drunken state bleeding from my nose i tagged my name in blood on the bathroom wall above the urinals and some fagbot rat made a big stink about it and i was threatened to be arrested.

joke.

it was brutal.

like really bad, the guy even sang the national anthem to the crowd at his first game basicly just pissing on everyone.

no team had ever lost as many games in as little ammount of time in nba history. we never made the post season, and by the last year here though our attendance was in the bottom leagues quarter we still averaged higher than memphis.

horrible drafting. allowing steve francis to refuse to play and trading him. not drafting vince carter.

it was doomed from early on. our city embraced that team like you wouldnt believe. but when you couple the ammount of losing over that 7 or 8 years, in a non traditional basketball market. its not going to last.

recently within the past 6 months david stern was interviewed for some substantial media outlet and was asked the question"what is your biggest regret" he replied the vancouver situation.

we had a horrible dollar at the time aswell. its really ashame what happened. it actually angers me.

/yesmad.

side note: i collect vancouver grizzlies memrobilia hah.

ya the raptors are quite successful. much bigger market thats makes it tough to lose, though thasts not the problem here. and in fact vancouver is even larger in population than when the grizzlies were here. were pushing 2.5-3 metro. but ya, the raptors are in the top bracket of attendence to this day in the league. alot more canadian corporate dollars in toronto aswell to buy up all the suites which is absolutley crucial for any sports team.

thje raptors are a solid organization mos def.

jay triano there head coach used to be the colour commentator for the grizz. hes really quite renounded in canadian basketball. good guy.

another huge mistake was Stu Jackson turning down an offer to trade for steve nash.

think about how that would have panned out. not only on a talent spectrum but hes a legend in Bc.

the guy puts on preseason games every couple years here that sell out instantly. i go. and i will be at the suns/blazers preseason game here in a week or two.

i go just to support basketball back in vancouver and helkp send a message to the league.

another disaster about that situation was/is to do with the popultion out here is the very fact were far to big to have just one professional sports franchise.

Nfl wont be coming here, baseball wouldnt draw the numbers in an 80 game home schedual thats needed and that really only leave sone other than hockey.... basketball. and thats probably not going to happen again at least for a generation or so.

its to big of a dice roll because of what transpired here with the grizz.

you know how brutal it is here lkistening to sports radio talking about the canucks 365 days a year. im a huge sports fan and it sickens me. thats all they can talk about.

its really a gouge in my gut thinking about vancouver sports, its my city. and i love it. but its difficult for me to project myself here forever soley on the fact we only have a hockey team.

all that being said, i rarely watch basketball anymore unless its kobe or Labron, unfortunatly. shit just put a mad sour taste iun my mouth.

sonics leaving was strange aswell, more strange than the grizzlies leaving if i remove myself from the situaltion.

alotta history went to oklahoma including a championship. kinda gross how that happened.

another bizarre turn of events.

and seeing as you live in La i can dig that. its funny when i was down there a few weeks ago i asked a homie who people cheer for. he said its weird, alotta people still follow them in st.louis. some people cheer for the chargers and alotta people for the raiders.

the Nfl is such a juggernaut though and its product is better than its ever been i cant turn away.

but ya, get a fuckin team in La for christs sake your missing out on an almost 10 million person market.

NO BRAINER.

but they dont want to expand right now and theres no need to move anyone. saints were almost movable, and obviously the bills are close, especially with the toronto games not totaly working out the way it was meant to.
